RS-Spotter

rs spotter

Extension Name: RS-Spotter | From: Elvis Joubert

Subject: RS- SPOTTER

Elvis Joubert: I’ve just downloaded your module RS-SPOTTER and trying to install it on my website ###— HIDDEN LINK —### however it is not displaying the ticker but rather the message “In order to view this object you need Flash Player 9+ support!” I would be grateful for any assistance to resolve the issue.

Support Team: Thanks for your email. We reviewed your website. It seems our module is conflicting with any other extension. Our module uses the JS library called SWFOBJECT. Do you know there are any other extension using SWFOBJECT? If so then please modify the module and set “Insert SWFObject File” to “No”.

If this not solve the issue, then to find out the exact problem we need to review your website from admin panel. If it is possible to provide us the super admin login details then please do the needful.

Elvis Joubert: Thanks for the swift response, I do not know of other module hence could you login and have a look. Furthermore I have just purchased the extension. The admin details are: ###— HIDDEN INFO —###

Support Team: Thanks for your purchase. We already installed the new purchased “powered by” link free copy into your website. We also modify one plugin called “System – JCH_Optimize” and only change “Position combined JavaScript” from “Last found JavaScript tag” to “First found JavaScript tag”. And now the module is working well. Please check and confirm.

Elvis Joubert: Thanks for that all is working fine, and now using your module has allow me to remove the ‘ugly’ news one I had before. Furthermore any suggestions from you guys that might help improve my site.

    Hi there.
I have installed your RSspotter into Joomla 2.5.11. It is working but the url link does not seem to be workign very well, I have to click on the word several times to get it to work?
NB Not ll the words are linked yet, so to check it please click on ‘Canals’, Barns’ or ‘Ruins’ as these are linked.
Also I am getting the ‘black’ background flash in before it turns to the white I have requested. Is it possible to change this?

Your module is very good. I read above that the font cannot be changed. Can the font size be changed? My client would like it a little bigger. I tried adding ‘Font-size: 16px’ to my template CSS but it didn’t work. Thanks.

    I have another problem…

on windows all is right, but on mac os, i get an ugly image:a black frame at the left, higher than the text (wich is on background green). I tried to reduce the width to 560, but same.
I have to reinstall flash, so it comes ok.
    But only once!
the second time i open the site ,same problem…
I can give you a picture if you want.

Support for all special characters is still not implemented. We are very sorry for the inconvenience but may be all Arabic or Persian letters will not work properly.

By the way, as this is a flash module, if any device do not have flash player support, the module will not display on those devices.
