RS-Exhibition is an image gallery extension for Joomla. This is a Joomla extension specially developed for Joomla version 1.5.x. The RS-Exhibition provides a very easy and effective way to display multiple images on your website. Setup is very simple and will take only few minutes. All you need to do is to set the image path properly and everything else is auto configured in RS-Exhibition extension. There are 2 style (lightbox or slideshow) available. It auto-generates all thumbnails and presents them with any one of the styles of your choice.

This is a free extension. The features are:

  • Available in both Module and Plugin format.
  • It requires mootools 1.1 (included).
  • It display all images from a folder. You only need to set the relative path of the image folder.
  • It have 2 like of display style, Lightbox or Slideshow.
  • Extension will generate all thumbnails automatically.
  • 5 different thumbnail display style.
  • Cache enabled, so the extension will load faster.
  • You can set the height and width of the thumbnail.
  • All styles are pre-configured, you only need to choose your favorite style from extension parameter area.

How To Configure and Use the Module (Steps):

  1. Install this Module.
  2. Now go to “Extensions” => “Module Manager”
  3. Edit/Add RS-Exhibition Module and publish it after configuring the module using the following steps listed below:
    • Module Class Suffix: A suffix to be applied to the CSS class of the Module. This allows for individual Module styling.
    • Load Lightbox: Load included lightbox JavaScript or not.
    • Image Folder: Enter the relative folder path. Example: “/images/stories/fruit/”. Only the relative path with trailing slash(/), do not add absolute path.
    • Display Style: Choose the The RS-Exhibition gallery display style, either Lightbox or Slideshow.
    • Image Transition Effect: Set the image transition effect. This settings is only for Slideshow style.
    • Thumbnail Style: Here you can choose the style of thumbnail. You have 5 available options: Default, Polaroid, Rounded, Cutted, Plain.
    • Thumbnail Ordering: Choose the thumbnail ordering: Ascending, Descending or Random.
    • Thumbnail Spotlight: If you choose yes thumbnail opacity will change on mouse hover, otherwise no.
    • Thumbnail Width (px): Default thumbnail width in pixel. Set to 0 to auto-calculate width.
    • Thumbnail Height (px): Default thumbnail height in pixel. Set to 0 to auto-calculate height.
    • Thumbnail Resizing: If set the source image width/height are resized to match the thumbnail width/height.
    • Thumbnail Title: Thumbnail title will be used as default description in lightbox, instead of the filename.
    • Thumbnail File Prefix: Add default thumbnail file prefix.
    • Thumbnail Cache Directory: This is the default thumbnail cache directory name which resides inside the source images directory.
    • Thumbnail Cache Time (min): Here you can set the period of time (minutes) until the thumbnail image is re-cached.
    • Lightbox Rel Parameter: If you set and value here, the custom rel parameter is used for the lightbox, Example lightbox[mygallery].

How To Configure and Use the Plugin (Steps):

  1. Install this Plugin.
  2. Now go to “Extensions” => “Plugin Manager”
  3. Find the plugin “RS-Exhibition” and enable it. You can also able to set the plugin parameters by editing the plugin. The parameter options available are as follows:
    • Load Lightbox: Load included lightbox JavaScript or not.
    • Display Style: Choose the The RS-Exhibition gallery display style, either Lightbox or Slideshow.
    • Slideshow Transition: Set the image transition effect. This settings is only for Slideshow style.
    • Thumbnail Style: Here you can choose the style of thumbnail. You have 5 available options: Default, Polaroid, Rounded, Cutted, Plain.
    • Thumbnail Ordering: Choose the thumbnail ordering: Ascending, Descending or Random.
    • Thumbnail Spotlight: If you choose yes thumbnail opacity will change on mouse hover, otherwise no.
    • Thumbnail Width (px): Default thumbnail width in pixel, used if no inline width/height param is set.
    • Thumbnail Resizing: If set the source image width/height are resized to match the thumbnail width/height.
    • Thumbnail File Prefix: Add default thumbnail file prefix.
    • Thumbnail Cache Directory: This is the default thumbnail cache directory name which resides inside the source images directory.
    • Thumbnail Cache Time (min): Here you can set the period of time (minutes) until the thumbnail image is re-cached.
  4. Add the plugin syntax to your article to display the slideshow. Here we are giving some syntax example:
    • Basic syntax: {rsexhibition src=[/images/stories/fruit/]}
    • Syntax where you can set custom thumbnail height: {rsexhibition src=[/images/stories/fruit/] height=[200]}
    • Syntax using Slideshow style: {rsexhibition src=[/images/stories/fruit/] style=[slideshow]}. If you wish to use the “Lightbox” style then change the code style=[slideshow] to style=[lightbox]
    • Syntax using polariod thumbnails: {rsexhibition src=[/images/stories/fruit/] thumb=[polaroid]}. If you wish to use the “Rounded”, “Cutted” or “Plain” thumbnail then change the code thumb=[polaroid] to thumb=[rounded], thumb=[cutted] or thumb=[plain] respectively.
    • Syntax using all possible parameters: {rsexhibition src=[/images/stories/fruit/] width=[100] height=[150] title=[My Gallery] style=[slideshow] effect=[fade] spotlight=[1] prefix=[thumb100_] thumb_cache_dir=[thumbs100] thumb_cache_time=[1440] load_lightbox=[1] thumb=[polaroid] rel=[lightbox[mygallery]] load_lightbox=[1] resize=[1] order=[asc] count=[10]}
