Anticipated Apple Launches to Span Three Days
Apple is poised to unveil its latest products over a three-day period, featuring notable releases such as the OLED iPad mini, the M6 iMac, and new MacBook Pro variants among its anticipated offerings.
Rumors and conjectures regarding Apple’s forthcoming announcements have been rife on the internet.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has emerged as a key source, indicating that the significant event on Wednesday may be succeeded by successive announcements on the following Monday and Tuesday.
Gurman remarked in a social media update that Apple is increasingly adopting a three-day spread for its product launches.
If Gurman’s assertions hold water, the launch of the new iPad mini equipped with an OLED display could occur today.
While Gurman speculates about the timeline rather than providing confirmations, he has previously reported that the M6 iMac and a 14-inch MacBook Pro are set for unveiling on Wednesday, alongside a touchscreen variant of the MacBook Pro.
Despite hints from Greg Joswiak during last week’s “Pro and Tell” teaser, formal announcements from Apple remain elusive.
Expected Enhancements in the New iPad mini
OLED Display
The upcoming iPad mini is anticipated to feature an OLED display, which, while not utilizing the sophisticated Tandem OLED technology of the iPad Pro, is expected to deliver more vivid colors, enhanced contrast, and a brighter overall viewing experience.
It is yet to be determined if the display will incorporate a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, as the new iPad mini could still adhere to a standard 60Hz rate.
Furthermore, the new iPad mini is rumored to possess water-resistant capabilities, featuring a redesigned casing and upgraded speakers engineered to ward off water ingress. This advancement would mark it as the first water-resistant model in the iPad series.
New Processor
The existing iPad mini is powered by Apple’s 3nm A17 Pro chip coupled with 8GB of memory. Speculation suggests that the forthcoming iteration may be equipped with the A20 Pro chip alongside 12GB of memory, facilitating the operation of Apple’s cutting-edge on-device models while enhancing voice recognition and dictation functionalities through Siri AI.
The A20 Pro is also predicted to deliver a significant leap in performance over its predecessor, the A17 Pro.
60Hz OLED Display Instead of ProMotion
Previous reports indicated that the new iPad mini would feature a 60Hz OLED display, contrary to earlier expectations of a ProMotion 120Hz panel.
These insights were recently shared by a user known as “Yeux1122” on the Korean Naver blog. However, given that Apple has yet to make an official announcement regarding the device, this information should be approached with circumspection.
Moreover, earlier reports from Apple’s supply chain sources had suggested that the unreleased iPad mini would be outfitted with an LTPS OLED panel featuring a 60Hz refresh rate.
Unlike the LTPO OLED panels found in Pro models, which can seamlessly adjust their refresh rates between 10Hz and 120Hz, LTPS panels typically operate at fixed refresh rates, such as 60Hz, 90Hz, or 120Hz, and tend to be less luminous than their LTPO counterparts.

If confirmed, the adherence to a 60Hz refresh rate could lead to disappointment among iPad mini enthusiasts and potentially place the tablet at a comparative disadvantage against more economically-priced Android alternatives that promote higher refresh rates.
