Tesla India announced on Friday the launch of a novel software update for its Model Y and Model Y L vehicles, introducing a plethora of Halloween-themed features.

This initiative underscores the company’s prowess in over-the-air (OTA) software updates, allowing Tesla vehicles to seamlessly acquire new functionalities and enhancements remotely, thereby eliminating the need for service center visits.

The Halloween Mode encompasses an array of immersive elements, such as a ghost-themed vehicle avatar, festive sound effects, unique lighting sequences, seasonal vehicle decals, and a customized lock sound.

Notably, the update also unveils a ‘Trick or Treat Mode,’ which activates sound and lighting displays when individuals approach the vehicle.

Additional features include a photobooth capability and a voice messaging service, enabling users to communicate through the Tesla app, with the vehicle transmitting the messages aloud.

Customers can get hands-on with these exciting features at Tesla’s Experience Centres scattered across India.

Currently, these centres are operational in Noida, Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, with collision centers also approved in Pune and Ahmedabad.

Earlier this month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk presented a new version of the Roadster sports car, which briefly took flight during a demonstration at a SpaceX facility in Texas.

A video posted on X by Musk depicted the vehicle navigating an elevated, curved track before momentarily ascending into the air and landing safely, drawing parallels to a flying car.

This exhibition showcased an innovative propulsion system that integrates the electric vehicle platform with high-pressure air tanks and thruster technology.

According to Tesla, this system can generate lift and enhance vehicle dynamics through strategically placed thrusters, facilitating control while airborne.

The testing elicited enthusiastic responses from Tesla executives, who described the development as a step closer to the realization of flying-car technology.

However, Tesla has not disclosed a timeline for commercial launch. Musk indicated that while the vehicle would maintain practicality for daily usage, its road legality could vary based on local regulations.
