In July of this year, Samsung unveiled its much-anticipated Galaxy Glasses, officially known as Intelligent Eyewear, during the Galaxy Unpacked event.
While the company has yet to confirm an official launch date, recent reports shed light on when consumers might finally see these innovative devices hit the market.
These groundbreaking AI smart glasses are expected to have limited initial availability and will operate on Google’s Android XR platform, powered by Gemini AI.
Promising features include real-time language translation, voice-assisted navigation, and enhanced note-taking capabilities.
Projected Launch Timeline for Samsung’s Intelligent Eyewear
According to BigGo Finance, citing insights from industry insiders, Samsung is poised to launch its Intelligent Eyewear around mid-December, with an initial rollout anticipated in South Korea and the United States.
Samsung appears to be considering a staggered launch strategy for the smart glasses, potentially excluding markets such as Europe and China during the first wave of availability.
This phased approach will allow the company to gauge consumer feedback and assess demand within South Korea and the US before extending its reach to additional international markets.
A similar methodology was employed for the Galaxy XR headset, which first debuted in South Korea and the US in October of the previous year, followed by its launch in the UK this past July.
The Intelligent Eyewear was originally highlighted at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London. The smart glasses will feature built-in cameras, integrating Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset to support their advanced functionalities.
Users will benefit from real-time language interpretation as well as navigation assistance via voice commands.
Samsung has stated that the smart glasses will deliver up to nine hours of battery life with a single charge, supplemented by a charging case that can provide up to seven additional full charges.
Moreover, the design of the Intelligent Eyewear arises from collaborations with notable brands like Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

With this entry into the market, Samsung seeks to establish itself as a formidable competitor to Meta in the rapidly expanding domain of smart glasses.
