Indian Ambassador Engages with US Senator on Technological Collaboration
Washington, Nov 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) – Vinay Kwatra, India’s Ambassador to the United States, recently convened with Republican Senator Mike Rounds to deliberate on the burgeoning cooperation in technology, innovation, and trade between their respective nations.
In a message shared on X, Ambassador Kwatra characterized the discussions as “productive.”
He remarked, We had a valuable exchange regarding the enhancement of collaboration in technology and innovation between India and the US, and we outlined a roadmap for productive partnerships in the realm of Artificial Intelligence.
I also briefed him on our ongoing bilateral engagements concerning trade, particularly the increasing procurement of hydrocarbons from the US by India.
The energy sector has emerged as a pivotal aspect of the India-US partnership, with India ramping up its acquisitions of American crude oil and liquefied natural gas.
Senator Rounds, representing South Dakota, holds the position of Chairperson of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and co-chairs the Senate Artificial Intelligence Caucus.
He is actively involved in legislative measures aimed at bolstering innovation and reinforcing US leadership in cutting-edge technologies.
Ambassador Kwatra’s dialogue with Rounds is part of a broader effort to fortify strategic partnerships across high-technology sectors.
In recent months, the Indian Ambassador has engaged in multiple initiatives focused on enhancing relations in innovation, trade, and sustainable energy.
Last month, he participated in numerous Diwali festivities in Washington, with notable appearances at the World Bank and various think tanks.
On October 24, the Ambassador attended a Diwali celebration organized by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, which was also graced by Ricky Gill, Special Assistant to former President Donald Trump and Senior Director for South and Central Asia on the White House National Security Council.
Ambassador Kwatra expressed his delight on X about the Diwali reception: “It was wonderful to celebrate this festive occasion with friends of India from diverse sectors, including the US Government, business, think tanks, and media.”

In the preceding month, the Indian Ambassador was also present at a special Diwali event at the White House, where President Trump conveyed his “warmest wishes to the people of India.”
During the event, Trump ignited a diya in the Oval Office, labeling it as “a beacon of faith in the triumph of light over darkness.”
In his remarks, the Indian Ambassador expressed gratitude to President Trump for opening the White House to honor the festival of Diwali.
“Your gesture exemplifies the strength of diversity through this celebration. It is a tremendous honor. On behalf of my Prime Minister and myself, I extend heartfelt Diwali greetings, especially to the more than five million-strong Indian diaspora in the US,” he remarked.
