Nissan Elevates Matt Ericson to Vice President of Product Marketing & Operations

In a significant leadership shift, Nissan has announced the promotion of Matt Ericson from his current role as Regional Vice President of the Southeast Region to the position of Vice President of Product Marketing & Operations for the United States.

In this newly appointed capacity, Ericson will be responsible for orchestrating the launch of new products into the market, overseeing processes from initial planning through to execution, as well as navigating vehicle pricing and incentive strategies.

With an extensive background spanning over 26 years in the automotive sector—20 of which have been dedicated to Nissan—Ericson possesses a wealth of expertise across product marketing, sales, operations, and dealer relations.

His recent tenure as Regional Vice President saw him spearheading initiatives in the Southeast, while his previous role as Chief Marketing Manager allowed him to drive strategic direction for Nissan’s SUV lineup.

Throughout his career at Nissan, he has occupied pivotal positions within Marketing Operations, Sales, Dealer Operations, and Parts and Service.

His global experience is highlighted by a notable tenure at Nissan’s headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, where he held the title of General Manager for Global Sales Operations–Americas.

Ericson’s new role will commence on December 1st. He will make his base in Franklin, Tennessee, and will report directly to Tiago Castro, the Senior Vice President of U.S. Marketing and Sales for Nissan U.S. and INFINITI Americas.

“Matt intimately understands our products, our operational framework, and, crucially, how to engage effectively with our customers,” Castro stated.

“His vast experience spanning product marketing, operations, and direct field engagement provides him with a unique perspective on customer desires, dealer requirements, and evolving market dynamics. This unique blend of skills is essential as we aim to fortify the Nissan brand and stimulate growth.”

Ericson succeeds Jeff Pope, who is poised to retire on December 31 after nearly two decades of dedicated service to Nissan.

Pope’s illustrious career has seen him occupy leadership roles across various domains, including field operations, dealer network enhancement, and global sales and marketing for both Nissan and INFINITI.

“Jeff’s influence on Nissan, our dealers, and the numerous professionals he has guided throughout his tenure is indelible,” Castro remarked.

“His unwavering dedication to our business and his team has been instrumental in sculpting the organization we are today. We express our heartfelt gratitude for his countless contributions and wish him the utmost success in his future endeavors.”

Mike Falzarano will take over Ericson’s previous position as Regional Vice President for the Southeast Region.

Falzarano, who has been with Nissan since 2007, has traversed various roles encompassing Regional Sales, Aftersales Field Operations, Sales Operations, INFINITI Product Marketing, and recently Global Sales Operations at Nissan’s global headquarters in Japan.

He will operate from Atlanta and report to Arcangelo Lofaro, Vice President of Nissan Sales & Regional Operations.
