Seoul Business Agency Launches Open Innovation Program for Startups
On the 17th of this month, the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) declared the opening of its recruitment drive for promising startups eager to participate in an innovative initiative involving six prominent enterprises. This initiative, facilitated through the Seoul Startup Hub, is scheduled to conclude at the end of this month.
The open innovation program serves as a collaborative platform for companies hailing from diverse sectors, including construction, distribution, shipbuilding, finance, and food. Its primary objective is to unearth potential growth engines for the future.
Startups selected for participation will gain access to opportunities for technology validation (Proof of Concept – PoC) alongside large corporations, as well as practical growth advantages encompassing investment and grants in the pipeline. The initial deadlines for applications are set for Hoban Group and Hyundai Home Shopping, both closing on the 22nd.
Hoban Group is on the lookout for startups specializing in construction automation, digital infrastructure, energy, ESG, smart cities, and emerging business territories, partnering with major affiliates such as Hoban Construction and Korea Electric Wire.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Home Shopping seeks out startups presenting innovative concepts across service, system, product, and platform domains.
On the 25th, three additional programs will culminate simultaneously. The esteemed Italian shipbuilding firm Fincantieri aims to identify outstanding Korean startups in shipbuilding, robotics, automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and energy transition.
Likewise, NH Nonghyup Bank is actively recruiting for eight sectors, including AI, service platforms, security, data, blockchain, food tech, and personal finance, in collaboration with its affiliates.
Shinhan Financial Group is also in pursuit of partners in fintech, AI, blockchain, data analysis, and youth enterprises, engaging all affiliates spanning banking, cards, and investment securities.

Finally, on the 30th, applications will be accepted for Samsung Welstory, aiming to recruit startups with technological adeptness in kitchen robotics, healthcare, agtech, blue tech, smart processes, food safety, and ESG. The application links for each respective program are detailed below:
