To capture market share from entrenched services like Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex, Meta is strategically positioning its offering around adaptable pricing rather than merely emphasizing raw benchmark performance.
The pay-as-you-go API is available at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. Furthermore, Meta has rolled out a substantially discounted “contributor tier.”
This option is priced over tenfold lower than standard rates for developers willing to contribute usage data toward model improvement.
