Technology transcends mere devices and the confines of screens. During LEAP 2026, the Saudi Ministry of Interior is unveiling a comprehensive methodology aimed at leveraging cutting-edge technologies, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovative digital solutions, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.
This methodology metamorphoses isolated tools into an integrated suite of capabilities designed to bolster security and safety, empower personnel in the field, enhance institutional efficiency and service delivery, and fortify decision-making processes.
The ministry’s involvement showcases six interrelated systems that epitomize the extensive digital metamorphosis within the security and services landscape.
These encompass field security and safety operations, wherein technology augments readiness and expedites responses; rapid response mechanisms that enhance early intervention strategies; and road safety innovations that employ data-driven technologies to promote safer thoroughfares.
Additionally, the systems incorporate security cameras that afford broader visibility and sophisticated monitoring capabilities, alongside digital services that streamline user interactions, rendering them more efficient and cohesive. Institutional services function as the central intelligence that integrates various system components.
Collectively, these six systems embody a portfolio of 36 distinct services and projects: seven dedicated to field security and safety, eight focused on rapid response, three pertaining to road safety, seven involving security cameras, nine in digital services, and two relating to institutional services.
These figures illustrate the extensive scope of the Ministry of Interior’s digital evolution and the versatility of its implementations across its operational ecosystem.
At LEAP 2026, the ministry showcases not merely a collection of technological tools but rather an integrated ecosystem where technology seamlessly translates into capabilities—extending from the field to command centers, roads to communities, monitoring to responses, as well as digital services to institutional operations.
Thamer Alharbi, Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs, emphasized that the Ministry has adeptly harnessed contemporary technologies and artificial intelligence to provide dependable security, humanitarian assistance, and public safety.
In his inauguration of the ministry’s pavilion at the LEAP 2026 conference, Alharbi reaffirmed that the ministry’s primary mission remains the protection of citizens, the cultivation of trust, and the empowerment of service providers via robust digital capabilities.
He highlighted significant achievements, including the national digital identity platform “Nafath,” created in collaboration with the National Information Center, which has benefited over 32 million users across 1,245 integrated platforms, facilitating upwards of 6.5 billion transactions.
Alharbi elaborated on innovations in field support, such as the “Maidan Companion,” which develops situational awareness and coordinates specialized emergency responses, in addition to “Absher Open Services,” which enables governed integration across multiple entities.
He further noted that “Absher Companion,” collaboratively developed with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Digital Government Authority, has successfully processed over 3.3 million interactions, executing more than 348,000 transactions with an impressive 96% completion rate.
