Google’s approved H-1B hires notably plummeted to roughly 2,200 from 5,100 year-over-year, while Amazon’s approvals declined from approximately 6,100 to 4,300.
For Indian professionals, who constitute an estimated 71% to 73% of sanctioned H-1B visa recipients in the United States, Nvidia’s hiring expansion arrives at a pivotal juncture.
Amid escalating layoffs, countless foreign workers face uncertainty, as visa holders are typically allotted a mere 60 days to secure a new sponsorship post-employment.
Nvidia’s compensation packages underscore the intense competition for AI expertise. Federal filings reveal that software engineers may command base salaries as high as $391,000 annually, while research scientists can earn up to $356,500.
Product managers could make as much as $379,500, and hardware engineering managers may receive up to $368,000.
Director-level positions demand even greater compensation, with architecture directors earning as much as $488,750 in base salary alone. Stock options and bonuses may considerably augment total compensation beyond these figures.
Among the most lucrative technical roles are distinguished AI algorithms engineers, who can earn up to $471,500, and principal systems software engineers, whose earnings can reach $431,250 annually.
The company continues to actively recruit across various domains, including AI research, chip design, software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing technical roles.
