Recent speculation indicates that Apple will retain the front camera and sensor arrangement from its predecessor, opting for the familiar pill-shaped cutout at the center of the display rather than shifting it to the top-left corner.
Earlier hypotheses regarding a left-aligned camera stemmed from translation inaccuracies, as per sources close to the developments. iPhone 18 Series: Potential Relocation of Face ID Components
Rather than a complete redesign, Apple appears to be considering an alternative arrangement for the Face ID components. Some of these elements may be discreetly positioned beneath the display.
For example, the flood illuminator could be relocated to a position beneath the top-left corner of the screen, while the infrared sensor would remain adjacent to the front camera. This modification would enable Apple to minimize the size of the Dynamic Island without its removal, allowing it to function as intended.

Consequently, Apple is likely to gradually reduce the dimensions of the cutout instead of opting for a solitary, diminutive camera aperture. On the display front, the iPhone 18 Pro is anticipated to showcase a 6.27-inch Super Retina display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Pro Max variant could potentially offer a larger 6.86-inch Super Retina display, also boasting a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models might integrate under-display Face ID components, potentially facilitating a more compact Dynamic Island.
The rear camera configuration is expected to retain its triple-lens design, akin to the prior generation. Leaks indicate that Apple is poised to introduce a variable aperture mechanism, along with a stacked image sensor, and enhancements tailored for low-light photography.
