Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has engaged in dialogues with NVIDIA to enhance collaboration in the realms of artificial intelligence, data science, digital competencies, and the nurturing of the nation’s innovation landscape.
Minister Raafat Hendy welcomed a delegation from NVIDIA, headed by Paolo Guglielmini, the Vice President overseeing Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
This meeting delved into prospects for cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, applied research and development, local skill enhancement, as well as support mechanisms for entrepreneurs and startups.
The discussions also encompassed specialized technical educational content, including elements of artificial intelligence, deep learning, and training-of-trainers initiatives.
Both parties scrutinized methodologies to fortify local capabilities pertaining to AI and entrepreneurial endeavors while addressing the requisites of developers, researchers, and institutions throughout Egypt.
Additionally, the meeting entailed dialogues regarding the formulation of a memorandum of understanding, which would delineate the envisioned cooperation avenues between Egypt and NVIDIA.
The ministry accentuated Egypt’s commitment to expanding artificial intelligence deployment across governmental and various sectors, spotlighting initiatives aimed at cultivating public-sector capabilities and equipping professionals with advanced and specialized skill sets.
Launched in 2019, Egypt’s national AI strategy has been accompanied by initiatives such as the National AI Council, the Applied Innovation Center, and the AI Responsible AI Charter.
The meeting also touched on the second phase of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, targeting the 2025–2030 timeline, detailing its objectives and progress on implementation.
Egypt possesses the potential and ambition to emerge as a leader in artificial intelligence innovation.
