DJI has officially launched its latest action camera, the Osmo Action 6, in the international market. Marking a significant advancement in the series, this camera is the pioneer in integrating a 1/1.1-inch variable aperture sensor.
The device boasts a dual OLED display, enhances stabilization through Rocksteady 3.0+ and HorizonSteady modes, and is powered by a 1,950 mAh battery capable of sustaining approximately four hours of use.
DJI, an established Chinese manufacturer revered for its drones and action cameras, has unveiled the next evolution of its action camera line, the Osmo Action 6. This announcement closely follows a comprehensive reveal by DJI, with the camera positioned as a direct successor to last year’s Osmo Action 5 Pro (currently available for $349 on Amazon).
This iteration witnesses a shift from the prior 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, prevalent in the last two models, towards a newly conceived 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor.
The latest sensor enables a dynamic range of 13.5 EV and a native field of view of 155°, facilitating immersive point-of-view action shots. In terms of video capabilities, users can record in 4K/60 fps, 4K/120 fps in 4:3, or even capture slow-motion footage at 1080p/240 fps, producing images at 38 MP. Notably, DJI has introduced a novel 4K custom mode that permits initial recording followed by cropping to the requisite aspect ratio.
Equipped with RockSteady 3.0, RockSteady 3.0+, HorizonBalancing, and HorizonSteady stabilization features, the camera offers enhanced video smoothness.
However, battery longevity remains unchanged, with the Osmo Action 6 retaining the same 1,950 mAh battery as its predecessor, allowing for up to 240 minutes (~4 hours) per charge.
Importantly, it does support rapid charging, purportedly achieving 80% battery within a mere 22 minutes. The DJI Osmo Action 6 can record videos at a remarkable 4K/120 fps.
Tailored for adventurers, travelers, and content creators alike, the camera includes 50 GB of onboard storage, gesture controls, smart subject tracking, and boasts an impressive water resistance rating of up to 20 meters.
Additionally, it accommodates direct connections for two DJI microphone transmitters and features a 1.46-inch front display and a 2.5-inch rear OLED screen, achieving a peak brightness of 800 nits.
In terms of cost, the DJI Osmo Action 6 Standard combo is priced at €379, encompassing the camera, Osmo Action Extreme Battery Plus, a dual-direction quick-release mount, adhesive mount, locking screw, USB-C to USB-C PD cable, and anti-slip pads.

Moreover, DJI provides the Osmo Action 6 Adventure combo at €479, which adds two extra extreme batteries, an additional dual-direction mount, a locking screw, Charging Cradle 3 (multifunctional), and an Osmo extension stick (1.5 m).
Enthusiasts can now acquire this action camera directly from the DJI online store or other authorized vendors.
