- Open the lid. If a Connect card appears on your iPhone, select Close to dismiss it.
- On your iPhone, navigate to Settings > [your name] to find your AirPods, or Settings > Bluetooth to locate them.
- Select the AirPods entry, scroll down, and choose Forget This Device (alternatively, tap the More Info button in Bluetooth, then select Forget Device). Confirm the action to unpair your AirPods.
- With the AirPods still in the case and the lid open, proceed according to your case type:
- For charging cases without a setup button: verify that the status light is illuminated, then double-tap the front of the case while it flashes white. Repeat this double-tap two additional times (totaling three). The status light will briefly flash amber, followed by white—indicating a successful reset.
- For charging cases equipped with a setup button: open the lid and hold the setup button for approximately 15 seconds until the status light flashes amber, followed by white, signaling that the AirPods have been reset.

Resetting AirPods Max
- Charge the AirPods Max for several minutes prior to initiating the reset.
- Ensure the AirPods Max are removed from the case and visible in Settings > [your name] (or in Bluetooth). Tap the entry, scroll down, and select Forget This Device; confirm the action to unpair.
- Simultaneously press and hold the Noise Control button and the Digital Crown on the AirPods Max for roughly 15 seconds until the LED near the base of the right earcup flashes amber, followed by white. This indicates the reset is complete.
