Local Marketing Plus SEO Unveils AI Search Visibility Reviews in North America

Local Marketing Plus SEO has officially launched AI Search Visibility Reviews, aimed specifically at trades and service businesses across Canada and the United States.

This innovative service seeks to determine how effectively a company’s identity, offerings, geographical presence, and ancillary details can be comprehended within the realms of Google Search and forthcoming AI-driven search experiences.

This initiative aligns with Google’s recent directives concerning website optimization for generative AI features, including AI Overviews and AI Mode.

In its latest search guidance, released on July 10, Google reaffirmed that traditional SEO methodologies continue to hold importance, as the new generative AI functionalities are deeply rooted in the company’s foundational search quality and ranking frameworks.

“While businesses still require a robust presence in standard search results, the scope of search visibility has expanded beyond mere website links,” stated Jo Ann McLellan, owner of Local Marketing Plus SEO.

“Entities must evaluate whether search and answer systems can accurately interpret their identity, services rendered, operational regions, and credible online information.”

Google elucidates that its AI Overviews and AI Mode employ techniques like retrieval-augmented generation and query fan-out.

The former utilizes information culled from Google’s search index to bolster AI-generated replies, while the latter permits the system to perform multiple related searches to procure comprehensive information pertinent to a user’s inquiry.

Independent research indicates that AI-generated summaries are significantly altering user engagement with search outcomes.

A July 2025 analysis by the Pew Research Center revealed that internet users were less inclined to click on traditional search results in the presence of AI-generated summaries.

The study scrutinized 68,879 Google searches conducted by 900 U.S. adults, yielding that users engaged with conventional search results in only 8% of visits when AI summaries materialized, as opposed to 15% in their absence. Importantly, this research is confined to U.S. users and should not be extrapolated to Canadian behaviours.

The AI Search Visibility Review meticulously assesses the uniformity of a business’s representation across its website, Google Business Profile, and other public information sources.

It can unveil discrepancies in company information, vague service descriptions, inadequately specified geographic details, outdated listings, insufficient thematic coverage, and technical obstacles hindering crucial website content access.

Furthermore, Local Marketing Plus SEO evaluates the clarity with which website content articulates the connection between the company, its services, and service areas.

Systematically organized service pages, precise business data, valuable firsthand content, and consistent entity relationships enhance the capacity for search and answer systems to interpret and retrieve information. However, these strategies do not guarantee a company’s inclusion in AI-generated responses.

Google’s guidance underscores that businesses are not required to implement special AI markup, create an llms.txt file, or modify content exclusively for generative AI search.

It advocates for a coherent technical website architecture, the publication of original, impactful content tailored for users, the maintenance of up-to-date Google Business Profile data, and assurance that structured data aligns with the information presented to visitors on web pages.

“AI search does not supplant local SEO,” McLellan noted. Rather, it enlarges the array of venues through which business information may be interpreted, summarized, and disseminated.

The foundational starting point lies in providing accurate information, valuable content, and a navigable, understandable website for both visitors and search systems.

The review further inspects how a company is represented across platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Bing Copilot.

Given that these services utilize diverse sources, models, and retrieval mechanisms, the results may vary across platforms and are subject to change over time.
