LG Science Park to Host AI Extravaganza with Industry Giants

In an ambitious initiative, LG is poised to unite its premier technology luminaries with representatives from renowned firms such as Nvidia, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft during a fortnight-long artificial intelligence event, designated LG SPARK 2026, set to unfold from September 7 to September 17 at LG Science Park—its state-of-the-art research and development nexus nestled in the Magok district of southwestern Seoul.

Since its inception in 2018, LG SPARK has evolved from a series of insular gatherings for LG affiliates—aimed at sharing research and development advancements—into a comprehensive festival that amalgamates technology, culture, and the arts.

Following this, an AX Fair on September 10-11 will unfold, featuring 68 illustrative case studies that exemplify AI’s integration into routine business operations, including marketing compliance scrutiny and R&D project oversight.

Moreover, an AI Talk Concert set for September 14-15 will unveil outcomes derived from EXAONE, LG’s proprietary AI model, across a spectrum of industries.

The culmination of the festival will include a DevCon developer conference, scheduled for September 15-16, during which engineers from Nvidia, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft will congregate to share contemporary AI advancements with LG personnel.

Notably, a hackathon will challenge 10 finalist teams to devise services utilizing the EXAONE framework.

The festooned finale encompasses a Culture Week from September 15-17, replete with career mentoring for 50 university students aspiring to delve into AI, an EXAONE-themed art contest, a short film festival centered on AI, a spaghetti bridge-building challenge, and engaging discussions led by playwright Park Cheon-hyu—an illustrious figure who clinched six Tony Awards—and ecologist Choi Jae-chun.

LG Science Park, inaugurated in 2018, stands as the preeminent single-company R&D facility in Seoul. With an expansive footprint comparable to 24 football fields and a total floor area surpassing one-third of the Yeouido business district, it accommodates approximately 25,000 professionals across various subsidiaries, including LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Innotek, LG Chem, LG Energy Solution, LG Household & Health Care, and LG Uplus.
