Anticipated Color Changes for iPhone 18 Pro Reveal
Apple is poised to reintroduce a striking Black finish with the forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as leaks suggest the potential elimination of the Silver option from this year’s portfolio.
According to the Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital, the iPhone 18 Pro has now transitioned into full-scale mass production, with the company reportedly preparing three distinct finishes: Dark Cherry, Sky Blue, and Black.
This assertion marks a pronounced departure from previous conjectures surrounding the color palette intended for Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro, which initially indicated the development of Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Dark Gray, and Silver options.
Fixed Focus Digital asserts that the Silver finish is unlikely to feature in the finalized collection, citing a lack of evidence emerging from Chinese supply chains.
Should this information prove accurate, Apple would entirely supplant the colors currently available with the iPhone 17 Pro, opting to forgo any carryover from its predecessor.
The prospect of a Black option is particularly noteworthy.
The Apple Post previously reported earlier this year that Apple’s plans for a Black variant had been shelved. This insight stemmed from Weibo leaker Instant Digital, who indicated that the finish had been considered but ultimately eliminated from the lineup.
The latest intelligence implies that Apple might have reversed its decision as the iPhone 18 Pro approaches mass production, though conflicting reports leave the final color assortment shrouded in uncertainty until an official announcement is made.
Dark Cherry has emerged as a consistent theme throughout months of speculation.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman was among the first to highlight Apple’s exploration of a deep red hue for its forthcoming Pro iPhones.
Subsequent disclosures have referred to this shade as Dark Cherry or Burgundy, with one leak describing it as a fascinating blend of burgundy, coffee, and deep purple.
Dark Cherry is anticipated to supplant Cosmic Orange as the premier color Apple employs to showcase its latest Pro devices.
The proposed Sky Blue finish seems to align with the previously reported Light Blue color, while the return of Black offers a more traditional choice for consumers following Apple’s departure from this shade in the iPhone 17 Pro.
Early dummy models illustrated the iPhone 18 Pro adorned in Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Black, and Silver, while distinct images purportedly showcasing SIM trays hinted at Dark Cherry, Light Blue, and Dark Gray as possibilities.
Concept imagery from The Apple Post had previously envisioned the device in the then-rumored shades of Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Gray, and Silver.
In addition to its new color options, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup is set to unveil an array of hardware enhancements, encompassing a more compact Dynamic Island, the new A20 Pro chip, Apple’s next-generation C2 modem, and advancements to the rear camera configuration.
A comprehensive overview of expected modifications to the iPhone 18 Pro includes indications of a variable-aperture main camera, upgraded connectivity features, and adjustments to the front-facing display hardware.

Apple has already confirmed that its upcoming special event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, when the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are anticipated to be introduced, alongside the debut of Apple’s first foldable iPhone, rumored to be designated as the iPhone Ultra.
