rankingCoach Partners with Extendify to Enhance WordPress SEO

Cologne-based rankingCoach has established a noteworthy partnership with Extendify, an onboarding platform utilized by hosting providers for configuring WordPress sites.

This collaboration enables the installation of its BeyondSEO plugin as a default feature, in light of the stark decline in click-through rates, which have been reduced by 58% for top-ranking pages due to the emergence of AI Overviews.

The German marketing software firm has secured its position within the standard WordPress setup. rankingCoach’s BeyondSEO plugin, now integrated with Extendify, facilitates a streamlined process for users launching their websites.

Present statistics indicate that the plugin boasts approximately 3,000 active installations, as cited in the WordPress directory.

BeyondSEO is offered at no cost and can function independently of a rankingCoach account. It features a built-in Marketing Radar that generates prompts encouraging users to upgrade, while a single click allows seamless access to the company’s range of paid services encompassing local listings, Google Ads, review management, social media scheduling, and brand monitoring.

The essence of this distribution is paramount. Extendify provides onboarding software for web hosts, claiming it reaches millions of site proprietors, while rankingCoach asserts its operations extend across more than 50 nations.

Being present at the moment a user initiates their search for solutions proves more beneficial than merely being superior.

“Our collaboration with Extendify ensures that BeyondSEO connects with WordPress users at an optimal point—precisely when they are establishing their sites and contemplating growth strategies,” remarked Thomas Meierkord, co-founder and chief operating officer of rankingCoach.

The timing of this partnership is particularly striking given the current dynamics affecting search rankings.

Research from Ahrefs in February revealed that AI Overviews are linked to a 58% reduction in click-through rates for leading pages.

According to Pew, users engage with traditional search results only 8% of the time when an AI summary is present, compared to 15% without it.

In response to mounting pressure, Google has been adapting its approach, incorporating Further Exploration links and subscription labels as antitrust lawsuits loom due to the decline in traditional traffic. This shift has yielded adverse implications for content creators reliant on the open web.

rankingCoach acknowledges the transformative landscape, asserting that BeyondSEO assists users in enhancing visibility across both conventional search and “AI-powered search experiences,” a practice referred to within the industry as generative engine optimization.

The task of optimizing for a summarizing machine diverges significantly from traditional link-building efforts.

The underlying platform is also experiencing contraction. As of April, WordPress powered 33.2% of measurable websites, a decrease from a peak of 35.8% in July 2022, according to HTTP Archive data, while Google’s preeminence is facing challenges as digital assistants begin to handle more queries.

The critical commercial inquiry remains whether the default placement will translate free installations into paid subscriptions.

However, an overarching concern persists: will search optimization tools retain their value if search engines cease to drive traffic?
