Apple Launches New Devices in India Following Recent Announcement
Apple has commenced sales of an extensive array of newly unveiled devices in India, after an eventful launch week.
This latest collection encompasses everything from entry-level laptops to high-performance professional machines, strategically designed to cater to students, everyday consumers, and creative professionals alike.
With pre-orders having already opened, customers can now acquire these devices through various channels across the nation.
MacBook Neo: Economical and Targeted at Youth
The standout feature of this launch cycle is undoubtedly the MacBook Neo, now the most budget-friendly laptop in Apple’s assortment. Tailored specifically for younger audiences, this device harmonizes portability, performance, and an array of vibrant design options.
Rather than using the conventional M-series processor, the Neo operates on the A18 Pro SoC first introduced with the iPhone 16 Pro, albeit with one fewer GPU core. Nevertheless, it promises to deliver seamless performance for both productivity and recreational activities.
The MacBook Neo is equipped with a 13-inch IPS display, boasts an aluminum chassis, and comes in multiple color variations. Users can anticipate battery longevity of up to 16 hours.
Additional features include a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, dual microphones, and side-firing speakers augmented with Spatial Audio.
The starting price is set at Rs 69,900 for the 256GB variant, while the 512GB model, which includes Touch ID, is priced at Rs 79,900. Students can avail themselves of a Rs 10,000 discount via Apple’s Education program.
iPhone 17e: An Accessible Device with Significant Enhancements
Positioned as the most affordable new iPhone, the iPhone 17e builds upon the foundation laid by last year’s iteration, incorporating several meaningful upgrades.
This device is powered by the A19 chipset, which is also featured in the standard iPhone 17, albeit with one fewer GPU core. The inclusion of MagSafe support broadens compatibility with various magnetic accessories.
Additionally, Apple has unveiled its C1X cellular modem, touted to be twice as swift and far more energy-efficient than the preceding C1 modem.
Other familiar attributes remain unaltered, including the display notch and the single 48-megapixel rear camera. The iPhone 17e is available starting at Rs 64,900. While the launch price exceeds that of its predecessor, the base model now features 256GB of storage—double the prior capacity.
MacBook Pro Equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max Processors
Apple has broadened its professional laptop lineup with the introduction of the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, following the previous M5 launch.
The new silicon purportedly enhances performance by up to 30 per cent, with a distinct focus on artificial intelligence workflows. According to Apple, users can expect processing speeds for large language models to be up to four times swifter compared to the M4 Pro and M4 Max chipsets.
The laptops are available in both 14-inch and 16-inch variants, featuring Liquid Retina XDR displays with a peak brightness capacity of 1600 nits.
The base model of the M5 Pro begins with 512GB of storage, whereas the M5 Max commences at 1TB. Prices start at Rs 2,49,900 for the 14-inch M5 Pro and Rs 3,99,900 for the M5 Max.
New MacBook Air Powered by M5 Chip
The MacBook Air also benefits from an upgrade to the M5 chip. Apple claims this model delivers up to four times faster AI performance than the M4 version and up to 9.5 times faster than the original M1.
The device features a more powerful 10-core CPU, next-generation GPU, and enhanced SSD performance that is up to twice as fast as its predecessor. Connectivity is further improved thanks to the new N1 wireless chip.
Available in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, the laptop now showcases a 12-megapixel Centre Stage camera. Pricing begins at Rs 1,19,900.
Revamped iPad Air and Pro Displays
The refreshed iPad Air now operates on the M4 chip, featuring an 8-core CPU and a 9-core GPU, promising up to 30 per cent better performance compared to the M3 model.
It retains its Liquid Retina display, supports the Apple Pencil Pro, and includes a 12-megapixel rear camera. Pricing starts at Rs 64,900.
Furthermore, Apple has introduced two new professional monitors: the Studio Display and Studio Display XDR.
Both models feature 27-inch 5K screens, with the XDR variant utilizing mini-LED technology for enhanced contrast and an HDR brightness of up to 2,000 nits. They support Adaptive Sync, accommodating refresh rates between 47Hz and 120Hz.
Both monitors include a 12-megapixel Centre Stage camera with Desk View capability and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity.
The standard Studio Display utilizes the A19 chip, while the XDR version operates on the A19 Pro SoC. Prices commence at Rs 1,89,900 for the standard model and Rs 3,99,900 for the XDR model.
