The Microsoft Teams application unveils a revamped in-meeting interface tailored to enhance navigation and minimize inadvertent clicks.
The restructured layout aligns commonly utilized controls, such as microphone, camera, and screen sharing, at the center of the meeting window, while relocating the Leave button to a distinct position.
Users now have the ability to personalize the meeting toolbar by pinning and rearranging frequently accessed controls.
This update also features a redesigned sharing panel, complete with live previews of available screens and windows, alongside a two-step verification process prior to content sharing.
These enhancements are designed to render presentations during Teams meetings more intuitive, thereby mitigating the risk of unintended screen sharing.
Microsoft Teams: AI-Driven Meeting Summaries with Copilot (September)
Microsoft Teams is rolling out AI-powered meeting archives that enable Microsoft 365 Copilot to deliver more precise, context-rich responses regarding your meetings.
Rather than depending exclusively on transcripts, Copilot will leverage AI-generated insights to respond to inquiries and provide more insightful meeting summaries and follow-up details.
These AI archives are exclusively created for meetings where transcription is enabled, AI features are permitted, and at least one participant possesses a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
It is important to note that these archives are accessible solely to meeting participants and do not retain raw meeting transcripts.
The introduction of a private chat feature intended for organizers, co-organizers, and presenters during Teams meetings, webinars, and town halls has been postponed.
As previously communicated, this feature aims to facilitate private communication among event organizers and presenters before, during, and after events, ensuring attendees remain unaware of these conversations.
