This oversubscribed funding round was spearheaded by Magna Investments, based in Abu Dhabi, with contributions from angel investors spanning over ten nations. Notably, these investors include founders of AI startups, chief technology officers, and education specialists who are collectively championing the London-based firm’s ambitious educational technology aspirations.
Since its inception in 2022, the UK-based online tutoring platform has garnered substantial traction, facilitating over 100,000 lessons across 35 countries and amassing $3 million in revenue. Edumentors initially attracted attention by linking students with high-achieving tutors from elite UK universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.
Founder and CEO Tornike Asatiani accentuated the transformative potential of AI in democratizing education. “Every student merits a world-class education, irrespective of geographic or socio-economic barriers,” he remarked. “With Edu AI, we are unlocking possibilities for hundreds of millions of learners to receive instruction that was once the privilege of a select few.”
In contrast to conventional passive video lectures or animated avatars, Edu AI aims for real-time adaptability, employing cutting-edge facial and body language recognition technologies.
