TVC News bids adieu to Stella Din-Jacob, affectionately known as “The General,” as she embarks on a new chapter as the Executive Director of News at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), effective immediately.
This appointment reflects the federal government’s resolute commitment to fortifying national broadcasting as a medium for unity, cohesion, and diplomacy across the country.
Throughout her illustrious six-year tenure at TVC News, Stella exhibited exemplary leadership and journalistic prowess, leaving an indelible impact on the organization. Prior to her arrival at TVC News in 2018, she cultivated her expertise at notable entities such as Silverbird Group, Minaj Broadcast Group, and Channels Television.
In her roles as Executive Producer of NEWSMEDIA Productions, Media Consultant to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and Group Head of Content and Quality Assurance, she brought a wealth of experience, significantly enhancing the operational standards of the newsroom.
According to Victoria Abiola Ajayi, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TVC Communications, Stella played a pivotal role in crafting award-winning programs, mentoring emerging talent, and ensuring the reliability and consistency of hourly news bulletins. Her leadership propelled TVC News into the echelon of the top three most-viewed news stations in Nigeria.
Her impactful contributions to the news industry have garnered multiple accolades, including being recognized as the No. 1 Woman in Journalism in Africa by WiJAfrica in 2024.
Ajayi noted, “While her departure feels bittersweet, we take immense pride in her continued journey in service to the nation… We are honored to have cultivated such high-caliber leadership, and we are confident she will further the evolution of national broadcasting.”

Stella’s achievements are not confined to TVC News; she adeptly managed one of the nation’s largest newsrooms, with correspondents spanning over 30 states, and oversaw extensive election coverage, including the pivotal 2023 polls.
Holding a law degree, Stella has completed a Foundation Course in Law at the University of Warwick, earned her LLB from the University of Kent, and obtained her B.L. from the Nigeria Law School.
