Semify Acquires Dragon Metrics to Enhance Global Reach and AI Optimization Services

Semify has officially acquired Dragon Metrics, an internationally recognized search and advertising reporting platform headquartered in Hong Kong. This strategic transaction significantly amplifies the U.S.-based company’s global footprint while underscoring its commitment to AI-driven optimization services.

Based in Rochester, New York, Semify operates a sophisticated white-label digital marketing software platform encompassing search engine optimization (SEO), paid search, paid social, and AI optimization solutions tailored for agencies and intermediaries.

The acquisition of Dragon Metrics introduces an established reporting tool specialized in SEO, AI, and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, particularly in non-Google search markets.

Founded in 2011 by Simon Lesser and Richard Mabey, Dragon Metrics has carved out a niche in international SEO.

The firm not only supports Google search but also focuses on prominent search engines prevalent in China, Korea, and Japan, servicing multinational corporations and global agencies across more than 50 countries.

According to Semify, this acquisition markedly enhances its measurement and reporting capabilities across a multitude of markets and platforms.

Furthermore, it propels the company’s AI optimization strategy as search marketing evolves toward AI-enhanced user experiences.

Details regarding the financial transaction have not been disclosed.

Leadership Changes

As a consequence of this merger, Simon Lesser will transition from his role as co-founder and CEO of Dragon Metrics to the position of Chief Product Officer at Semify. In this capacity, he will spearhead the product strategy for AI optimization within the enhanced organization.

The engineering teams from both companies will converge, with Semify’s Chief Technology Officer, Brian Sappey, overseeing the integrated engineering division.

Semify is in the process of developing an AI Optimization (AIO) methodology intended for search and paid media applications. Dragon Metrics already offers AI-based insights into search result performance.

Semify anticipates that this feature, combined with Dragon Metrics’ international experience, will facilitate the rollout of AIO services in additional markets.

Patrick Briggs, CEO of Semify, expressed that this acquisition is a monumental stride in the company’s product development trajectory.

“This acquisition represents a pivotal moment in our evolution toward comprehensive AI optimization services with best-in-class reporting software,” remarked Patrick Briggs, CEO of Semify. “Dragon Metrics brings not only world-class reporting technology but also deep expertise in international markets that will be crucial as AI optimization expands globally. Simon’s vision for AI-powered SEO, PPC, and social advertising reporting perfectly aligns with our AIO strategy, and having him join as our Chief Product Officer will accelerate our service and software development significantly.”

Impact on Customers

Semify intends to integrate Dragon Metrics’ software more closely with its own platform over time. According to the company, resellers collaborating with Semify will soon gain access to enhanced reporting through Dragon Metrics accounts.

As integration develops, additional features will be migrated into Semify’s platform, allowing partners to access reporting, content editing, and keyword research tools in a unified environment instead of managing multiple disparate SEO solutions.

Dragon Metrics will retain its branding for current customers, and Semify plans to allocate extra engineering resources to bolster the Dragon Metrics platform.

Additionally, white-label fulfillment services will be made available to Dragon Metrics-approved agency clients, aligning with Semify’s reseller-centric commercial approach.

Dragon Metrics’ tools encompass keyword rank tracking, competitor analysis, content optimization, technical site audits, and backlink analysis. The company also provides an AI overview tracking across supported search engines.

Semify reassured that these features will remain accessible to Dragon Metrics’ clientele throughout the integration process.

International Focus

Dragon Metrics has firmly established itself as a specialist in markets where Google commands a smaller market share compared to North America and Europe. Its software meticulously tracks search performance across engines widely utilized in China, Korea, and Japan, alongside global platforms.

Semify contends that this comprehensive coverage complements its existing presence in English-speaking markets and broadens the data sources available for reporting and optimization services.

Consequently, agencies reselling Semify’s services will benefit from more extensive reporting capabilities across diverse countries and search environments.

Lesser emphasized that joining Semify presents Dragon Metrics with the opportunity to leverage a more expansive range of services.

“Joining forces with Semify allows us to take Dragon Metrics to the next level by combining our international reporting expertise with Semify’s proven white-label fulfillment model,” Simon Lesser stated, Co-founder and CEO of Dragon Metrics. “Our clients will now have access to full-service digital marketing execution, while Semify’s partners gain access to enterprise-grade reporting capabilities that rival any platform in the market.”

Mabey underscored that the trend toward data-intensive and AI-enhanced reporting substantiated the merger.

“This acquisition perfectly illustrates the convergence we’re seeing between sophisticated SEO, PPC, social ad, and AI-powered reporting,” remarked Richard Mabey, Co-founder of Dragon Metrics. “The combination of Dragon Metrics’ global capabilities with Semify’s AIO and SEO expertise creates a uniquely powerful platform.”

Semify, founded in 2009, focuses on providing white-label services that seamlessly integrate into agencies’ existing workflows and software infrastructures. The company boasts a U.S.-based team dedicated to delivering services alongside its bespoke software platform.

With an escalating demand for AI-driven optimization and reporting in response to evolving search platform dynamics, Semify anticipates that the acquisition of Dragon Metrics will facilitate the expansion of its AIO methodology into additional international markets in the years to come.
