India’s Pioneering Role in Semiconductor Technology Highlighted Ahead of Semicon India 2025
Washington D.C. [US], September 2 (ANI) – India is on the verge of a significant transformation in the realms of wireless technologies and semiconductor design, positioning itself at the vanguard of global innovation. This assertion comes from Chris Ripley, President and CEO of Sinclair, in anticipation of the upcoming Semicon India 2025, the nation’s premier semiconductor-centric event.
Ripley emphasized the unparalleled expertise present in India, which has prompted substantial investments aimed at developing cutting-edge wireless technologies. “The proficiency found in India is unrivaled globally. We have heavily invested here to create next-generation wireless technologies, exemplified by the D2M chip found in this tablet I hold, a product meticulously designed in India.
This is a testament to how India is surpassing the world in crucial wireless technologies and semiconductor innovation, thus generating new products for both the US and beyond,” Ripley elaborated.
Sinclair stands as one of the largest news media entities in the United States. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate ‘Semicon India – 2025’ on Tuesday, an event designed to accelerate the growth of India’s semiconductor ecosystem, taking place at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. Modi will also engage in a CEO roundtable during the conference.
The three-day conference, spanning from September 2 to 4, will delve into the advancement of a robust, resilient, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in India. Key sessions will cover topics such as the progress of the Semicon India Programme, developments in semiconductor fabrication and advanced packaging projects, infrastructure preparedness, smart manufacturing, research and development innovations, as well as investment prospects and state-level policy execution.
This event will underscore initiatives under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, celebrate the burgeoning startup ecosystem, foster international collaboration, and map out the future trajectory of India’s semiconductor sector.
With an anticipated attendance of over 20,750 delegates, including more than 2,500 participants from 48 countries, the event will feature over 150 speakers, including 50 global leaders, and showcase more than 350 exhibitors.
Additionally, it will host roundtable discussions involving six countries, alongside dedicated pavilions for Workforce Development and Start-Ups.
Globally organized Semicon conferences aim to extend the reach of technological advancements within the semiconductor sector while showcasing the policies of various nations to fortify their semiconductor ecosystems.

In line with the Prime Minister’s vision to position India as a nexus for Semiconductor Design, Manufacturing, and Technology Development, previous conferences were held in Bengaluru in 2022, Gandhinagar in 2023, and Greater Noida in 2024. (ANI)
