N8n, the Berlin-based AI startup that has garnered considerable attention for its automation solutions, has officially announced a Series C funding round, successfully raising $180 million and achieving a valuation of $2.5 billion.

This funding round was spearheaded by the prominent US venture capital firm Accel, with participation from notable investors such as Meritech, Redpoint, Matt Miller’s Evantic, and Visionaries Club.

Furthermore, T Capital, the corporate venture capital division of Deutsche Telekom, alongside Nvidia’s investment arm, NVentures, also contributed to the round. Previous investors, including Sequoia, HV Capital, Highland Europe, and Felicis Ventures, provided additional funding, reflecting their continued confidence in n8n.

Throughout the summer, this funding initiative has been a focal point of discussions in the media, illustrating the heightened interest surrounding n8n.

Since its inception in 2019, n8n has amassed a total of $240 million in funding, with a prior raise of $60 million completed in March of this year.

Positioning itself as an “AI orchestration platform,” n8n enables enterprises to seamlessly integrate myriad applications and automate a plethora of business tasks, including the implementation of large language models and the utilization of AI agents to streamline operations.

Jan Oberhauser, the CEO and founder of n8n, remarked, “While substantial investments have been channeled into AI tools by both businesses and governments, numerous organizations find themselves struggling to derive meaningful outcomes.”

He added, “The primary challenge for large organizations lies not in accessing AI, but in orchestrating it adeptly. N8n empowers teams to construct their own adaptive AI infrastructures, fostering truly flexible and customizable systems that mirror organizational workflows.”

The new funding will be instrumental in addressing the “enormous demand” from enterprises for n8n’s services, facilitating the expansion of its engineering capabilities, advancing new feature developments, and augmenting the team to support global outreach.

Currently, n8n serves over 3,000 enterprise clients, including prominent names such as Vodafone, Softbank, and Seat. The startup has reported a tenfold increase in revenue over the past year, although exact figures were not disclosed.

It benefits from the support of more than 700,000 active developers and creators who contribute to integration and content creation, as well as provide templates and guides.

Ben Fletcher, a partner at Accel, stated, “Jan and the n8n team successfully balance robust functionality with simplicity, democratizing AI automation for all users. n8n’s platform has evolved into the core for orchestrating innumerable workflows within enterprises, governmental bodies, and AI developers.”

He further expressed, “The remarkable momentum among customers, paired with a vibrant and engaged community surrounding n8n, fuels our enthusiasm to join the team at this pivotal moment as they transform the potential of AI into tangible realities!”
