Luxonis OAK 4 is a standalone AI vision system/camera powered by a Qualcomm DragonWing QCS8550 platform delivering up to 52 TOPS of AI performance for on-device real-time perception without relying on a host computer.
Four variants are offered: OAK 4 S, OAK 4 D, OAK 4 D Pro, and OAK 4 CS. All four feature 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 48 MP RGB camera sensor with rolling shutter, although the OAK 4 CS model can feature a 5MP global shutter camera thanks to support for wappable lenses.
Depth sensing is implemented through an OV9282 depth sensor in the OAK 4 D and OAK 4 D Pro (Dual camera) models, and the latter also adds a laser dot projector to improve depth perception.

The camera runs Luxonis OS based on Linux 5.15. It supports computer vision functions such as warp (undistortion), resize, crop via the “ImageManip” node, edge detection, and feature tracking, and users can also run custom CV functions.
Stereo depth perception is implemented with filtering, post-processing, RGB-depth alignment, and high configurability, while 2D and 3D tracking rely on the “ObjectTracker” node.
The camera supports popular computer vision and AI libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, DepthAi, RTABMap, OpenCV, OpenVINO, and Open3D. Demo applications include open vocabulary object detection using YOLOE or YOLO-World, lossless zooming using the YuNet model, age and gender detection, segmentation depth crop with the Deeplabv3+ model, hand pose using MediaPipe, and triangulation with stereo cameras and YuNet face detection.
