Recently, we disclosed that Corsair clandestinely upped the cost of its premier AI Workstation 300 desktop by nearly $1,100, and today, we learn of LG’s analogous price increment affecting its latest Gram laptop series, which is poised to resonate globally.
The LG Gram 2026 series launched at a staggering 19% premium over its predecessor, already reflecting the burden of higher RAM and SSD prices.
This new lineup started at nearly 500,000 Won (approximately $333), greater than the 2025 series. However, LG has opted to impose yet another 13% increase on top of the initial hike.
According to a report by eDaily, LG has augmented the prices of the LG Gram 2026 models by 200,000 to 600,000 Won, equating to roughly $133-$400.
Specifically, the LG Gram 16 model has undergone a staggering $400 price hike, now priced at an astonishing 3.54 million Won or $2,361.
This model debuted at 3.14 million Won ($2,094), while its predecessor was introduced at a more palatable 2.64 million Won ($1,716), marking an eye-watering increase of nearly $645.
While precise details regarding the price adjustments for each specific model remain elusive, the report suggests a minimum escalation of $133 for the entire lineup.
It is anticipated that premium configurations will bear the most substantial increases compared to their entry-level counterparts.
Although the report does not directly attribute these hikes to rising RAM and SSD prices, a spokesman from LG Electronics asserted that increasing component costs are indeed a significant factor.

Notably, the Galaxy Book 6 Pro series had already been listed at $477 higher than its predecessor, making the latest edition nearly $1,000 more expensive than the prior Galaxy Book 5 Pro.
