Kyiv Security Forum for Youth: A Platform for Future Leaders

The Kyiv Security Forum for Youth emerges as an annual platform dedicated to addressing the myriad challenges and opportunities confronting young Ukrainians amidst the pervasive backdrop of war. Supported by the NATO Representation in Ukraine, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and TECH FORCE IN UA, this event is pivotal in shaping future narratives.

This year’s theme, “Coding the Future,” encapsulates the dualistic essence of Ukraine’s defense—both moral and technological. The current generation is not solely engaged on the frontlines; they are also architecting a new paradigm for the nation—one that intricately weaves artificial intelligence, cyber defense, and digital innovation with enduring principles of valor, integrity, selflessness, and resilience.

This forum convenes 150 young leaders from across Ukraine, alongside military personnel, diplomats, volunteers, and specialists in security and defense technology. The agenda encompasses discussions on evolving defense technologies, fostering Ukrainian innovations, reinforcing national resilience in the face of the protracted conflict with Russia, and accentuating the youth’s role in the nation’s reconstruction.

Opening remarks are delivered by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum. Following this, participants will hear from Joseph Dobbs, Acting Head of NATO Representation in Ukraine, and James Appathurai, Interim Managing Director of DIANA.

Noteworthy attendees and speakers include the commanders of Defense Forces units, MilTech representatives, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Participants of the forum acquire invaluable knowledge and unique experiences, becoming integral to a network of next-generation leaders. They will also have the opportunity to compete for internships at the Foundation, coinciding with preparations for the annual Kyiv Security Forum, traditionally held in April.

Each year, the Foundation orchestrates the Kyiv Security Forum, which has evolved into a premier international discourse platform in Ukraine, tackling war, peace, and now, the aspirations of the next generation through the Kyiv Security Forum for Youth.
