Apple’s strategic trajectory for 2026 is shaping up to be exceedingly dynamic. Anticipation is building around the impending launch of the iPhone 17e, with speculation suggesting an introduction as soon as this month.
Positioned as the successor to last year’s iPhone 16e, the 17e is expected to be the most budget-friendly option in the forthcoming iPhone 17 series. Additionally, Apple is preparing to roll out new Mac devices, refresh its iPad lineup, and unveil a much-anticipated upgrade to Siri.
Launch of iPhone 17e Imminent
As indicated in a recent newsletter from Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17e could make its debut as early as this month. Targeting price-sensitive demographics, particularly in markets like India, the device is projected to contain several incremental advancements compared to its predecessor.
Noteworthy specifications include the proprietary A19 processor, compatibility with MagSafe wireless charging, and the integration of an in-house cellular modem known as C1X. The anticipated pricing in the U.S. is expected to remain steady at $599.
In India, where Apple is augmenting its manufacturing and retail footprint, the iPhone 17e is expected to be priced around Rs. 59,900.
New Mac Devices on the Horizon
Turning to the Mac segment, Gurman suggests that new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models may debut as early as the week of March 2. These devices might be equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chip variants linked to updates in macOS.
Subsequently, a refreshed MacBook Air featuring an M5 chip is anticipated. Further plans for 2026 include new Mac Studio desktops shortly after the spring releases, an updated Studio Display retaining its current design aesthetics, and new Mac mini models throughout the year.
Gurman also highlights the possibility of a low-cost MacBook with a screen under 13 inches and powered by an iPhone-class processor, aimed specifically at competing against Windows and Chromebook devices.
Next-Gen iPad Lineup on Track for Release
Gurman has also delineated the forthcoming iPad devices set for early 2026 launch. The entry-level iPad is expected to be enhanced with the A18 chip, marking its inaugural support for Apple Intelligence features.
Meanwhile, the iPad Air is slated for an upgrade that will introduce the M4 chip. While design modifications across the lineup are expected to be minimal, the enhancement of processing speed is touted as the primary improvement. Additionally, sources indicate that later in the year, the iPad mini may transition to OLED screens.
