Apple’s iPhone Exports Surge in October
The notable increase in Apple’s iPhone exports from India during October reinforces the nation’s growing importance as a manufacturing powerhouse for the technology behemoth.
In October 2025, India exported a remarkable 3.44 million units of iPhones, marking a 40 per cent rise month-on-month from September and a 20 per cent increase year-on-year compared to October 2024, according to data from Canalys, a technology market analytics firm now under Omdia.
The United States accounted for the largest share, comprising 61 per cent of India’s iPhone exports, as companies like Foxconn and Tata enhance their manufacturing capabilities to cater to the burgeoning US market.
The United Arab Emirates also played a significant role, with approximately 704,000 units exported, growing steadily ahead of the holiday shopping season.
Furthermore, October recorded a significant uptick in iPhone exports to Russia compared to prior months, indicating a strategic shift in market focus.
Impact of iPhone 17 Series
While the iPhone 16 and 15 models dominated export figures, early enthusiasm for the newly introduced iPhone 17 series, coupled with pre-holiday demand in the US and other Western markets, was instrumental in this surge, noted Sanyam Chaurasia, Principal Analyst at Canalys.
“Apple’s surge in October underscores India’s pivotal role in its global iPhone shipments for the fourth quarter,” he remarked.
Initial sales data for the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro Max indicate a notable surpassing of previous models, positioning them as the flagship offerings for the coming months.
Experts observe that the rising export levels of iPhones from India signify the country’s strategic ascent within Apple’s global supply chain, notwithstanding ongoing trade tensions.
Chaurasia previously indicated that India’s leading electronics manufacturing services (EMS) entities, particularly Foxconn and the Tata Group, are rapidly scaling up iPhone production and exports.
The development of an intricate ecosystem for complementary iPhone components, including display modules, also plays a critical role in establishing a comprehensive Apple smartphone supply chain within India.
India’s Smartphone Export Growth
Overall, India’s smartphone exports reached 6.63 million units in October, reflecting a 26 per cent increase month-on-month, propelled by the pre-holiday demand surge, Canalys data revealed.

This marks a 14 per cent rise on a year-on-year basis, with Apple and Samsung accounting for approximately 88 per cent of total exports.
In the same month, India exported around 2.84 million Samsung devices, showcasing a strong 30 per cent year-on-year growth. Samsung’s export strategy remains predominantly focused on European markets, with Austria, Germany, and Spain as primary destinations.
The production dynamics for Samsung in India are maturing well, evidenced by robust year-on-year growth and consistent month-on-month increases,” Chaurasia explained.
