US Ambassador to India Engages with RBI Governor to Foster Technological Collaboration
New Delhi, January 17 – On Saturday, US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, engaged in discussions with Sanjay Malhotra, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), with a primary focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the technology sector.
In a post on the social media platform X, Gor expressed his enthusiasm about the meeting, stating, “I had a productive dialogue with RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra. We explored avenues for increased collaboration, particularly in pioneering US technologies.”
Gor’s engagements in India have been significant; he previously conferred with N Chandrasekaran, the esteemed Chairperson of Tata Companies, during this visit.
In a separate post, Gor noted, “I had a fruitful meeting with N. Chandrasekaran, the Chairman of Tata Companies, a venerable conglomerate boasting a rich 150-year legacy and a substantial presence in the United States.”
On Friday, Gor marked his inaugural visit to the US Consulate in Mumbai, emphasizing the commencement of initiatives to fortify the US-India partnership.
In a social media update, he conveyed his excitement, stating, “Thrilled to initiate my first visit to Mumbai at our Consulate! Our committed team is diligently working to enhance the US-India partnership.”
Gor’s visit to Mumbai came shortly after he presented his credentials to President Droupadi Murmu on January 14 at a formal ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
He remarked on X, “Today, I presented my credentials as US Ambassador to India to President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
I am appreciative of President Trump’s trust and am eager to advance this Administration’s priorities in strengthening our partnership across security, trade, energy, and technology—paving the way for a defining US-India partnership in the 21st century.”
Ambassador Gor stated, It is a privilege to present my credentials to President Murmu and serve in India during this promising epoch in U.S.-India relations.

I anticipate closely collaborating with the Government of India and the Indian populace to promote our mutual goals in defense, trade, technology, and critical minerals, thereby augmenting the ties between our two distinguished democracies.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan, in a separate announcement, noted: “President Droupadi Murmu received credentials from Mr. Chandradath Singh, High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; Dr. Robert Zischg, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria; and Mr. Sergio Gor, Ambassador of the United States of America, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”
