This borrowed device played a crucial role in enabling Co to participate in online classes amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It also served as an unexpected conduit for her aspirations to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering.
With determination, she successfully applied for an SM college scholarship, marking the first pivotal step towards her dream, fueled by an intrinsic curiosity about technology.
Receiving the SM scholarship alleviated financial burdens, thereby allowing Co to immerse herself entirely in her academic pursuits. Free from the weight of tuition concerns, she prioritized not only her technical proficiency but also her personal development at Asia Pacific College (APC).
Co continuously sought to enhance her knowledge and experiences, navigating the complexities of academic rigors and co-curricular demands. Her strategy to surmount these challenges hinged on meticulous planning and disciplined time management.

“I was motivated not only to achieve for my family, but also for the foundation and to become a beacon of hope for aspiring students,” she expressed.

Marjorie Co graduated with honors, earning cum laude distinction from APC. Remarkably, prior to even receiving her diploma, she had secured a job offer through her internship experience.
She attributes her exceptional performance to the qualities fostered as an SM scholar and an APC student.
“Through the SM scholarship, I discovered that resilience, leadership, and a passion for learning were critical in distinguishing myself during internships. Our company consistently presented us with novel challenges, and cultivating these attributes allowed me to stand out,” she reflected.
Co describes her journey as “incredibly surreal.” What once existed solely as a dream has materialized into a tangible reality.
As she gazes toward the future, Co aspires to fulfill promises made to herself and her family: acquiring a new home and exploring the wonders of the world together.
From the humble origins of a borrowed laptop, Co has garnered skills, nurtured passions, and amassed knowledge, all of which formed the bedrock of her success.
