In a disturbing case, a former teacher and coach from Texas, Matthan Lough, 32, has been apprehended for purportedly grooming a teenage girl. Authorities allege he employed an AI-generated document to outline a methodical approach to manipulation.
Lough’s arrest occurred on December 10, under a singular charge of child grooming, as reported by FOX 4. Prosecutors allege that Lough engaged in inappropriate interactions with a 17-year-old girl who attended the Christian Center of Mesquite, where his father served as senior pastor until his resignation on November 23.
Subsequently, Lough assumed the role of the victim’s volleyball coach. The investigation commenced following a report from the victim’s mother to local law enforcement in early October, prompted by the discovery of unsettling text exchanges between Lough and her daughter, according to FOX 4.
During a police interrogation, the victim revealed that she first encountered Lough at a graduation event for her cousin in May 2023.
He allegedly approached her while she engaged in a volleyball game with her sister, ostensibly to discuss the formation of a prospective sports team.

In the spring of 2025, Lough is accused of reaching out to the victim for her phone number, allegedly under the pretext of sending her a volleyball highlight reel.
However, the nature of their communications reportedly shifted dramatically over the summer, as Lough began to send increasingly inappropriate messages pertaining to the victim’s appearance, eventually soliciting explicit photographs from her.
Authorities identified three pivotal incidents in September that culminated in the child grooming charges, as reported by FOX 4.
Allegations include Lough embracing and kissing the victim within a storage closet at their church, engaging in oral sex while his daughter attended gymnastics, and inappropriate physical contact in a parking lot.

As the investigation unfolded, officers reportedly unearthed an AI-generated document entitled “Hypothetical Counter-Influence Plan.”
This five-step guide allegedly outlined strategies for manipulating women, detailing methods to execute each step.
The documented steps included:
- “Stabilize and strengthen her,”
- “Plant gentle doubts,”
- “Rebuild her autonomy,”
- “Shift the power dynamic,”
- “Let her choose.”
Furthermore, the victim articulated feelings of trepidation regarding Lough, who reportedly possessed a “step-by-step process” on how to commit murder and was known to carry a concealed weapon.
In response to the allegations, the Christian Center of Mesquite issued a statement clarifying that Lough was not an employee of the church, yet acknowledged that some incidents might have transpired on their premises.

Previously, Lough held a teaching and coaching position at the Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy and was associated with a local club volleyball team, as noted by FOX 4. Attempts to identify legal representation for Lough have been unsuccessful at this time.
