Dubai Delegation Engages with Tech Giants in AI Initiatives

Dubai has inaugurated a ten-day program facilitating the attendance of 50 Chief Artificial Intelligence Officers from both federal and local entities to engage with some of the most prominent technology companies in the United States.

This delegation will engage in dialogues with high-ranking executives and specialists from industry leaders, including Google, Meta, OpenAI, Palantir, Nvidia, IBM, Amazon, and Microsoft.

Officials have stated that this visit to the United States aims to provide UAE representatives with firsthand exposure to cutting-edge innovations and best practices, while simultaneously nurturing international partnerships that will enhance governmental efficiency and future preparedness.

The program encompasses meetings with innovation hubs and AI experts to unveil collaboration opportunities.

Commencing on September 14, this visit is being orchestrated by the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office in conjunction with the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence.

This initiative aligns with Dubai’s efforts to expedite AI integration within both governmental and business frameworks, as envisioned in the UAE Vision 2031, which aspires to establish the nation as one of the world’s most sophisticated digital economies.

Moreover, the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, launched in 2017 under the Centennial 2071 initiative, aims to position the country as a global nucleus for AI and future-centric sectors.

Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, articulated that this latest initiative epitomizes the commitment to embracing next-generation digital solutions and cultivating global collaborations.

The delegation also represents a novel structural framework endorsed by the UAE Cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, which has instituted the designation of Chief AI Officer across federal ministries and entities.

This strategic move comes amid a global surge in AI, a technology increasingly pivotal to decision-making, service delivery, and sustained competitiveness.

Earlier in the year, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, mandated the introduction of the Dubai AI Seal, a certification framework for businesses that adopt AI ethically. Six levels of certification—E, D, C, B, A, and S—will be awarded to businesses demonstrating impactful operations within Dubai’s AI economy, with S denoting the highest tier.

This new service incurs no costs and is designed for firms verified to engage in AI-related consulting, development, infrastructure, integration, and ancillary services.

Additionally, the emirate has unveiled the Dubai AI Index, benchmarking global cities on their capacity to embrace AI, along with the establishment of the Dubai AI Academy, aimed at equipping young professionals and government employees with specialized skills.

By 2031, Dubai envisions the pervasive integration of AI across all spheres of government, commerce, and society—from public services to economic diversification.
