Salt Lake City, Utah — April 23, 2026
The forthcoming 10-week initiative provides complimentary mentorship, a supportive peer network, and an opportunity to vie for $25,000 for women-led ventures generating under $1 million in revenue — with applications closing on May 1
Commerce Catalyst, a pivotal entity within Utah’s ecommerce landscape, has initiated the application process for Basecamp—a groundbreaking 10-week accelerator and pitch competition tailored exclusively for female founders of consumer brands. The program is set to welcome 30 women-led enterprises for an in-person cohort commencing May 20 and concluding on July 22. Sessions will occur on Wednesday evenings at the Anata building in Salt Lake City.
By the summer’s end, 10 finalists will qualify for a live pitch competition on August 25 at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center, where the top three founders will share $25,000 in monetary rewards. Attendance is complimentary.
Basecamp aims at companies with under $1 million in cumulative revenue—an early stage where, according to Commerce Catalyst founder Matt Holman, the right resources can dramatically alter a company’s trajectory.
Matt Holman, Founder, Commerce Catalyst, speaking at Ecom Elevated, April 15-16, 2026, in downtown Salt Lake City
Holman announced the Basecamp initiative at Ecom Elevated, an annual conference hosted by Commerce Catalyst on April 15–16, 2026, at Le Méridien Downtown, Salt Lake City.
The event fostered connections among founders, operators, and industry luminaries, focusing on tactical insights and growth potentials.
Ecom Elevated highlighted the importance of community and collaboration, aiming to provide both motivation and pragmatic tools, solidifying itself as an essential gathering within Utah’s ecommerce ecosystem.
“While Utah boasts a vibrant ecommerce community, access to capital, mentorship, and crucial networking opportunities remains disproportionately limited for women founders,” remarked Holman.
“Basecamp seeks to rectify this disparity—granting female founders direct access to operators, expertise, and the platforms essential for scaling their businesses.”
Women-led startups have persistently garnered a disproportionately minuscule share of venture capital. Basecamp was conceived to address this imbalance, merging structured mentorship and peer camaraderie with a pivotal pitch platform that fosters significant visibility for participating companies.

The program boasts an early success story: Mallory Stevens, the founder of Tuff Pops and victor of Commerce Catalyst’s 2025 pitch competition, conveyed this message to hesitant founders: Winning last year was revelatory.
The visibility and connections I gained unlocked opportunities that were otherwise inaccessible. Do apply; you’ll find yourself among individuals keen to see your success.
Finalists from the 2025 pitch competition will automatically gain entry into Basecamp without needing to reapply.
Enrollment in the accelerator is not a prerequisite to compete in the pitch finale, although Commerce Catalyst highly recommends participation. Audience members at Ecom Elevated, April 15-16, 2026, in downtown Salt Lake City.
