Beyond Renewables & Recycling Secures Pre-Seed Funding for Sustainable Solar Panel Recycling

Beyond Renewables & Recycling, an innovative climatetech startup specializing in the sustainable and high-value recycling of solar panels, has successfully raised an undisclosed sum in a pre-seed funding round.

This round was spearheaded by Momentum Capital, a prominent venture capital firm based in the United States.

Accompanying Momentum Capital in this funding endeavor, co-investors include Venture Catalysts, IIMA Ventures, Oorjan Cleantech, and Gautam Das, the founder of Oorjan Cleantech. The investment round took place in October 2025.

The newly acquired capital will be utilized to expedite the advancement of the startup’s proprietary recycling technology.

Additionally, efforts will be directed towards fortifying the waste supply chain and scaling operations to tackle India’s swiftly escalating solar waste dilemma.

With India’s burgeoning solar market, projections suggest an alarming production of nearly 1.2 million tons of solar photovoltaic (PV) waste by the year 2040. In a scenario fraught with early losses, this figure could soar to 4.8 million tons.

Currently, a significant portion of this electronic waste is managed by the informal sector, which frequently lacks the necessary infrastructure for the safe processing of hazardous materials. This inadequacy leads to suboptimal recovery rates and severe environmental repercussions.

Beyond Renewables has articulated its commitment to addressing this critical gap through a proprietary, eco-efficient recycling process that achieves over 95% recovery of valuable materials from end-of-life solar panels.

Employing a sophisticated combination of thermal and chemical methodologies, the startup proficiently extracts aluminum, glass, silicon, copper, and precious metals such as silver, maintaining high purity. This transformative process converts hazardous waste into a valuable reservoir of sustainably sourced minerals.

“Beyond Renewables’ mission is impeccably aligned with our investment thesis, which focuses on funding companies that address vital environmental challenges through advanced technological innovation,” stated Ankur Shrivastava, Managing Partner at Momentum Capital.

The solar waste crisis is a palpable threat; it is not a distant concern but an urgent issue that is rapidly deteriorating.

The talented team at Beyond Renewables, equipped with their cutting-edge technology and explicit go-to-market strategy, is uniquely positioned to excel in this burgeoning market, projected to expand to a Rs 20,000 crore market by 2040.

We are excited to collaborate with them in establishing a circular economy for India’s solar sector.

Founded in 2024 by Manhar Dixit and Vedant Taneja, the startup has devised a multi-faceted waste sourcing strategy. This strategy includes partnerships with asset developers, EPC players, manufacturers, and dismantlers to ensure a reliable flow of waste materials.

“With India’s solar installations now totaling 127.33 GW and a burgeoning panel manufacturing sector, we bear the imperative of ensuring sustainability from cradle to grave,” remarked Manhar Dixit, CEO of Beyond Renewables & Recycling.

“The funding, led by Momentum Capital, signifies an immense endorsement of our technology and vision. It will empower us to expand our operations and deliver a comprehensive, eco-friendly solution that transforms waste into a national asset. We are not merely recycling; we are sculpting a sustainable future.”

Backed by IIT Mandi Catalyst and NSRCEL, the startup is actively enhancing its sales channels and has secured Letters of Intent (LOIs) from prospective buyers for recycled glass, silicon, and other essential materials.
