On Thursday, WordPress unveiled an innovative connector known as Claude, designed to facilitate website owners in sharing back-end data with Anthropic’s sophisticated chatbot framework. This novel feature empowers users to determine the specific information they wish to disclose, with the option to retract access as desired.
Importantly, Claude operates under a read-only framework, which precludes any alterations within a user’s content management system (CMS).
Nevertheless, last year, WordPress indicated its ambition to soon offer “write” access for the MCP integration, potentially enabling users to execute editorial functions directly via an integrated chatbot of their choosing.
Once connected, users can pose a variety of inquiries to the chatbot concerning the data it has been permitted to access. This encompasses everything from summarizing monthly site traffic to analyzing which posts exhibit the lowest levels of user engagement.

In addition, WordPress has curated a collection of template prompts tailored for the chatbot. Examples include requests such as “Display my pending comments on my blog” and “Which of my sites attracts the most traffic?”
The functionality extends further to comment management and plugin inquiries, illustrating the breadth of assistance provided by this integration.
