Rahul Sasi Discusses Cybersecurity at St. Francis College
Bengaluru: Dressed casually in a T-shirt, chinos, and blue athletic footwear, Rahul Sasi exuded an aura of approachability as he addressed students at St. Francis College in Koramangala. The founder and CEO of CloudSEK, a leading firm specializing in cybersecurity, captivated the audience with a captivating demonstration involving a drone that trailed him seamlessly while he elaborated on the transformative capabilities of technology.
On National Librarians’ Day, Rahul shared his insights on cybersecurity, an event coordinated by the college’s library and information center in collaboration with The Times of India, under its Leaders on Campus initiative. His engaging presentation included interactive elements, such as rewarding attendees with gift boxes for correct answers and announcing a PlayStation 5 as a prize for an upcoming challenge.
Throughout his discourse, Rahul illustrated the complexities of cybersecurity by referencing his own pioneering experiments. These undertakings, which spanned from altering TV channels to manipulating coffee machines for complimentary beverages, showcased his early fascination with technology.
Reflecting on the inception of his company, he recounted a piece of advice from one of his initial investors: “The best money you can make is by helping others. Cybersecurity exemplifies this principle.”
Rahul’s background is rooted in a middle-class family; his father worked as a bus conductor for the Kerala State Transport Corporation. He remarked on his initial belief that intelligence was limited to countries like the US, Israel, or the UK, as most software originated from these regions. However, he soon recognized that ingenuity resides globally, prompting him to ponder why exceptional software could not also be developed locally.
Addressing the disparity between educational curricula and industry expectations, Rahul emphasized the importance of practical knowledge over theoretical understanding for students. The event featured a panel discussion moderated by Nazura Javed, head of the MCA department at St. Francis College.

Such initiatives empower students to make informed decisions regarding their professional journeys,” stated Bro Titus Anto, director of St. Francis College.
