Ruth Kedar was born in Campinas, Brazil, in 1955, and at the tender age of 16, her family relocated to Israel. This transition was challenging, marked by a confrontation with a new culture and language; nevertheless, Kedar drew strength from her passions: mathematics and art.

At Stanford University, Kedar earned a Master’s degree in Design. Her portfolio showcased a playing card set that captivated Adobe, leading to a significant professional opportunity. This propelled her to the role of Art Director at Adobe and eventually back to Stanford as a Visiting Art Professor.
It was during her tenure at Stanford that destiny intervened. Two PhD students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, were conceiving a modest project that would ultimately transform the digital landscape.
