Asus unveils new Vivobook S14 and S16 configurations
Asus has announced fresh configurations for its Vivobook S14 and S16 laptops, now equipped with the Intel Core i7-1350 processor, in several regions.
Both iterations showcase 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB SSD, while the 16-inch variant boasts an impressive 144Hz display.
Asus has launched new iterations of the Vivobook S14 and S16 across diverse global markets. While both laptops share identical processing, memory, and storage specifications, they diverge in terms of display dimensions and refresh rates.
In previous releases, Asus has also introduced Snapdragon-powered models of the Vivobook S14 and S16, alongside convertible variants. Additionally, the company has recently rolled out 14-inch and 16-inch Vivobook Pro series with varying configurations.
Key Features of the Asus Vivobook S14 and S16
The Vivobook S14 features a 14-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a refresh rate of 60Hz.
Asus claims a brightness peak of up to 300 nits and full sRGB coverage. Conversely, the larger Vivobook S16 employs a 16-inch IPS panel, maintaining the same resolution, yet enhancing the refresh rate to 144Hz for improved fluidity in scrolling and motion.
Both laptops are powered by Intel’s Core i7-1350 processor, featuring six cores and clock speeds capable of reaching 4.8GHz. Additionally, they are integrated with Intel Graphics and a neural processing unit rated at up to 17 TOPS.
Memory comes in the form of 16GB soldered LPDDR5X, paired with a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Notably, while the memory remains non-upgradable, an M.2 2280 slot is available for additional storage expansion.
The Vivobook S14 weighs around 2.65 lbs (1.2 kg), while its larger counterpart, the Vivobook S16, tips the scales at approximately 3.31 lbs (1.5 kg).
Both models are equipped with a 52.5Wh battery. Asus asserts that the S14 offers over 20 hours of video playback, while the S16 provides more than 15 hours.
Connectivity options include two USB-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery capabilities, two USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 TMDS port, and a 3.5mm audio port.
Both laptops support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, and are outfitted with a 1080p webcam. The configurations available in India come with Windows 11 Home, although operating systems and bundled software may vary by region.
The Snapdragon-powered Vivobook S16 reviewed last year received accolades for its exceptional 144Hz IPS display and extensive battery longevity.
However, that particular model operated on a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor and boasted a higher-resolution display of 2560 x 1600 pixels.
