Apple Expedites Retail Expansion in India with Second Bengaluru Outlet
Apple Inc. is notably enhancing its retail presence in India, with ambitions for a second company-owned store in Bengaluru.
Recently, the tech giant has initiated recruitment across a spectrum of retail positions, signalling that preparations for this new facility are already in progress.
This strategic move coincides with Apple’s increased focus on India, a burgeoning market for the company, particularly following the inauguration of its flagship locations in Mumbai and Delhi earlier in 2023.
With a considerable demographic of technology experts, startup visionaries, and affluent smartphone users, Bengaluru is poised as a pivotal arena for Apple’s evolving retail and ecosystem framework in the region.
The hiring surge is an unequivocal sign that the Tim Cook-led enterprise is advancing to a new phase in its retail rollout across India.
A diverse range of roles is being sought, including Technical Specialists, Operations Experts, and Business Pro teams, as well as store managers and customer-engagement staff.
Apple typically initiates recruitment months ahead of a store’s opening, as employees must undergo comprehensive training in customer service, product maintenance, sales methodologies, and ecosystem integration.
Unlike traditional electronics retailers, Apple Stores serve as experiential retail hubs, offering not just product purchases but also technical assistance, setup support, repair services, and software guidance.
Bengaluru has emerged as a critical market for Apple within India, owing to its dense population of affluent consumers and skilled technology professionals.
The city is home to numerous startups, engineering institutions, and the offices of multinational tech firms, fostering substantial demand for premium devices such as iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and Apple Watches.
Furthermore, Apple’s significant corporate and engineering operations in Bengaluru render the city strategically valuable beyond mere retail transactions.
It is noteworthy that Apple inaugurated its inaugural retail outlet in Bengaluru, named Apple Hebbal, situated in the Phoenix Mall of Asia in 2025.
Fresh job postings now indicate intentions for a second outlet in East Bengaluru, particularly within the vibrant Whitefield–Mahadevapura IT corridor.
Prior to establishing this Bengaluru outlet, Apple launched its first official retail stores in the country—Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in Delhi—in April 2023.
This marked a significant milestone, transitioning from years of dependence on third-party resellers and online sales. Notably, CEO Tim Cook attended both launches, underscoring India’s strategic importance in Apple’s broader global strategy.
This latest retail expansion is particularly significant, as Apple recorded its most robust growth in India last year, positioning the country as one of the firm’s foremost expanding markets internationally.

Surpassing its previous record of $8 billion in annual sales, Apple achieved a landmark of approximately $9 billion in the last financial year, chiefly propelled by burgeoning demand for iPhones, increasing adoption of premium smartphones, and swift advancements in local manufacturing and export operations. The company also registered unprecedented iPhone shipments throughout the year.
