Qnity Joins Apple’s Manufacturing Initiative

Qnity, a Delaware-based enterprise, entered Apple’s production program in March and is now poised to manufacture the sophisticated films integral to the variable aperture of the iPhone 18 Pro’s primary camera, as disclosed in a recent press release by Apple.

Furthermore, Apple has forged a partnership with the Pennsylvania-based Perryman Company, which will supply titanium for the innovative foldable iPhone Duo, with an impressive financial commitment of up to USD 100 million over a three-year period.

Expanding American Supply Chains

Apple asserts that the components utilized in the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro, sourced from American firms, span numerous states.

This includes an array of wireless chips and silicon components, with several major suppliers amplifying their manufacturing capabilities within the United States.

Broadcom and Corning Commit to US Production

  • Broadcom has announced a significant investment of USD 1.5 billion to upgrade and expand its facility in Fort Collins, Colorado.

This site fabricates RF components for various Apple devices and is covered by a multi-year agreement involving the production of over 15 billion domestically manufactured chips.
  • Corning is establishing its legacy by producing cover glass for Apple in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and anticipates that by the end of 2026, this site will manufacture all global cover glass utilized in iPhones and Apple Watches.
  • Coherent provides essential VCSEL lasers for Face ID and other functionalities, produced at its plant in Sherman, Texas.

Semiconductor Advancements in Arizona

On the semiconductor frontier, TSMC’s fabrication plant in Arizona is projected to produce in excess of 100 million chips for Apple by 2026, with the construction of the site’s northern campus already underway.

Additionally, Amkor commenced construction on its inaugural high-volume packaging and testing facility in Peoria, Arizona, initiated in September 2025, marking a significant milestone in domestic production.

Apple is anticipated to be among its initial clientele, with the first two phases estimated to create over 3,500 new job opportunities.

Apple’s Advanced Manufacturing Center in Texas

In a further commitment to innovation, Apple inaugurated an Advanced Manufacturing Center in Houston, Texas, in August.

This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 20,000 square feet (approximately 1,860 square meters), serves as a training ground for small and medium-sized businesses in Apple’s manufacturing methodologies, including printed circuit board assembly design.

Located within the same Houston establishment that produces AI servers, the center will also commence manufacturing the Mac mini within the year.

A Bold Commitment to US Manufacturing

This initiative constitutes a pivotal aspect of Apple’s ambitious USD 600 billion investment plan aimed at bolstering US manufacturing and pioneering innovation over the next four years.
