The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has formally reprimanded the American technology behemoth, Apple, demanding a response within the imminent span of one week.
The CCI articulated its growing impatience, emphasizing that it will no longer tolerate delays related to this issue.

CCI’s Warning to Apple
This admonition from the CCI follows Apple’s repeated requests for extensions regarding the matter under scrutiny, which pertains to an investigation into alleged anti-competitive behavior concerning the App Store ecosystem.
The regulatory body pointed out that despite having extended multiple opportunities and generous timelines, Apple has failed to comply adequately with its directives.
Apple Challenges CCI’s Proceedings
Initially, Apple contested the CCI’s proceedings, contending that any potential penalties should factor in various criteria, including region-specific revenues. However, the CCI clarified that the ongoing judicial challenge would not halt its proceedings indefinitely.
Consequences of Missing the Deadline
The CCI has issued an unequivocal warning, stating, “Such indulgence cannot be continued indefinitely.”
Should Apple neglect to provide a response within the stipulated timeframe, the Commission indicated that it will advance the case based on the existing documentation.
