As the year reaches its zenith, we are thrilled to announce the commencement of the CNX Software Giveaway Week, a distinguished global competition aimed at distributing review samples and securing units from various companies for our readership.
In its twelfth iteration, the contest will feature seven remarkable items: five review samples that I will personally distribute, alongside two offerings from partner companies, which include a router board and an industrial development kit.
True to tradition, the contest is globally accessible, while CNX Software Thailand will host a separate giveaway with four additional prizes available exclusively for participants residing in Thailand.
The premier prize will be the M5Stack Tab5 ESP32-P4 IoT development kit, featuring a 5-inch touchscreen, a 2MP front-facing camera, an integrated speaker, a dual-microphone array, a microSD card slot, and the advanced ESP32-C6 for seamless wireless connectivity, along with a plethora of sensors.
During my exploration of the M5Stack Tab5 devkit, I relished the experience of constructing the default firmware utilizing the ESP-IDF framework, subsequently flashing it to the device, conducting tests of essential features, altering snippets of code, and ultimately executing Arduino sketches as alternatives to the factory-installed firmware.
This platform serves as a commendable benchmark for evaluating a comprehensive array of ESP32-P4 functionalities.
The giveaway encompasses the M5Stack Tab5 device and a cable equipped with six wires designated for the ExtPort2 expansion port, which supports I2C and RS-485 signals.
It is imperative to note that I will need to remove the battery from the package, unless the winner resides in Thailand, due to shipping regulations.
Entries missing a stated country will be deemed invalid. The contest is governed by a set of rules, which are enumerated below:
- Each contestant may submit only one entry. Duplicate entries originating from the same IP address or email will be filtered out.
- Contests will be open for a 48-hour window, commencing daily at 10 AM (Bangkok time).
- Comments will be closed after the 48-hour period. If comments remain open, the contest is still active.
- Winners will be selected through random.org and announced in the comments section accompanying each giveaway.
- Winners will be contacted via email and must respond within 24 hours; otherwise, an alternative winner will be chosen. It is advisable to utilize an email address for entries, as contacting individuals using Facebook, Twitter, or Google login may prove challenging.
- Shipping:
- A fee of $19 will apply for registered airmail small packets or ePacket for international shipments, payable via PayPal within 48 hours after the conclusion of the respective contest. Alternative payment options can be explored if PayPal is not viable in a participant’s country.
- All prizes will be dispatched simultaneously upon finalizing the list of winners, approximately on November 12.
- A fee of $19 will apply for registered airmail small packets or ePacket for international shipments, payable via PayPal within 48 hours after the conclusion of the respective contest. Alternative payment options can be explored if PayPal is not viable in a participant’s country.
- I will ensure that seven distinct winners emerge from this giveaway. Should a participant be selected again, another winner will be drawn.
