Vivo S50 Series Set to Launch in China This December
The Vivo S50 series is poised for a December debut in China, introducing a duo of new smartphones—the Vivo S50 and the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. As anticipation builds for the official announcement, Vivo has unveiled key specifications for the Pro Mini model.
This device will be driven by Qualcomm’s cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a high-performance chip designed for the emerging market of affordable flagship devices.
Additionally, the design of the Vivo S50 Pro Mini has been showcased, featuring a camera module reminiscent of the iPhone Air. There is speculation that the phone may also find its way to global markets, including India, under the designation Vivo X300 FE.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini: A Compact Flagship
A representative from Vivo has disclosed significant specifications for the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. The device will boast a 6.31-inch display, emphasising a compact form factor. It will integrate a dual rear camera system, comprising a robust primary sensor alongside a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens.
Enhancing the photography experience further, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini will include a 50-megapixel front-facing camera, providing full focal length zoom capabilities akin to the brand’s more premium flagship offerings.
Under the hood, the smartphone will harness the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, complemented by LPDDR5X Ultra RAM capable of achieving a maximum speed of 9,600 Mbps. Additionally, it will feature UFS 4.1 storage technology.
This marks the inaugural use of Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor within the Vivo S series. Claims from Vivo suggest that the device has achieved over 3 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark test.
Vibrational feedback will be facilitated by an X-axis linear motor, while biometric security will be ensured through a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini will also benefit from IP68 + IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. Furthermore, Vivo has confirmed battery specifications, indicating the smartphone will house a 6,500mAh ‘Blue C’ battery, supporting both 90W wired and 40W wireless fast charging options.
Furthermore, the Vivo X300 series is scheduled for an official launch on December 2 at noon. The Vivo X300 and X300 Pro, which were released in China and in international markets in October, feature captivating camera capabilities, including a 200-megapixel rear camera and a 50-megapixel selfie camera, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor.
