Recently, three students from PrepNet Virtual Academy, including seniors Kendall Ellis and Jason Lucas, alongside freshman Everett Post-Petkus, seized such an opportunity at the third annual Michigan High School Cyber Summit held at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan.

Attendance at this illustrious event was predicated upon recommendations from technology instructors, who recognized the students’ inquisitiveness and proficiency in digital disciplines.
Once present, they engaged in breakout sessions featuring cybersecurity professionals, observed live demonstrations, and interacted with avant-garde technological advancements, including the summit’s pièce de résistance: a robotic canine.
This mechanical marvel not only boasts a futuristic aesthetic but also fulfills a vital role. The robot adeptly detects and quantifies thermal energy, enabling technicians to identify overheating devices preemptively.
This demonstration underscored the conference’s central tenet: technology should amplify human capacities rather than supplant them.
For students like Kendall, the experience unfurled new vistas of understanding. “The Cyber Summit is a forum where one can glean insights from experts discussing cybersecurity challenges and their prudent resolutions,” remarked Ellis.
