Samsung Takes Aim at Apple’s iPhone 17 Launch
CALIFORNIA: Following the unveiling of the iPhone 17 series at its annual event, technology behemoth Samsung seized the opportunity to take a pointed jab at its competitor, Apple.
Samsung Mobile US revisited its 2022 critique of Apple’s absence in the foldable market, resurrecting the quip, “Let us know when it folds,” adding, “# iCan’t believe this is still relevant.”
During the recently held “Awe Dropping” event, Apple introduced its latest offerings, including the iPhone Air, iPhone 17, AirPods Pro 3, and Apple Watch Series 11.
With a playful dig at the iPhone 17’s camera capabilities, Samsung’s US social media account on X/Twitter remarked, “48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP #iCant!”
Another post ridiculed Apple for its languid feature introductions, stating: “#iCant believe people had to wait five years for Sleep Score.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook heralded the iPhone Air as the slimmest iteration to date, measuring a mere 5.6mm in thickness. He proclaimed it promises “pro performance in a thin and light design.” This cutting-edge model boasts a 6.5-inch ProMotion display, featuring a refresh rate that peaks at 120Hz, along with 3,000 nits of maximum brightness, as noted by The Verge.
Crafted with a ceramic shield and enveloped in a titanium frame on both sides, the iPhone Air is not just aesthetically pleasing. Apple asserts that this new design achieves exceptional energy efficiency, a feat attributed to iOS 26’s Adaptive Power feature and the enhanced N1 wireless chip, which mitigates energy usage by up to 30 percent.
Equipped with a 48-megapixel dual camera system alongside a 12MP telephoto lens, the iPhone Air’s 18MP selfie camera incorporates the Center Stage feature, akin to the standard iPhone 17. This functionality automatically adjusts to fit everyone into the frame, negating the need to rotate the device into landscape mode. Notably, the device relies solely on eSIM technology to optimize battery space.
Apple asserts that the iPhone Air provides all-day battery longevity, alongside the introduction of an array of new accessories, including updated MagSafe options and custom-designed cases. Powering the device is Apple’s latest A19 Pro chipset; Tim Millet, vice president of platform architecture at Apple, declared it the fastest smartphone processor available.

The iPhone Air is available in a variety of hues: black, white, gold, and sky blue. The new lineup features four models: the base iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, a larger iPhone 17 Pro Max with a 2-terabyte storage option, and the slender iPhone Air, as reported by CNN.
All the newly launched iPhone models boast increased damage resistance, incorporating “ceramic shield” displays as opposed to traditional glass screens. The iPhone 17 Pro has undergone a comprehensive redesign to enhance durability, expand battery capacity, and increase memory.
This novel design is engineered to efficiently manage heat generated by improved performance. Furthermore, the iPhone Air is constructed with “spacecraft titanium,” ensuring durability despite its sleek 5.6mm profile. (ANI)
