Pune Unveils Corporate Fleet Free of Diesel and Petrol
Routematic, a prominent corporate mobility platform, has inaugurated Pune’s inaugural fleet entirely devoid of diesel and petrol in collaboration with Infosys. This pioneering fleet comprises four-seater and six-seater vehicles exclusively powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric Vehicles (EVs), establishing Routematic as the city’s sole enterprise mobility provider operating without fossil fuels.
“Becoming the first service provider in the city to enable 100% diesel and petrol-free operations is a testament to our commitment to lead the corporate transport sector towards a more sustainable future,” remarked Sriram Kannan, founder and CEO of Routematic.
Alarming data from the World Air Quality Report 2024 by IQAir indicates that 13 out of the world’s 20 most polluted cities are situated in India, with vehicular emissions significantly exacerbating air quality issues. Concurrently, Pune has been identified as one of the five most congested cities globally, with virtually unparalleled increases in average commute times, as highlighted by the 2024 TomTom Traffic Index report.

This initiative will materialize through the establishment of a 50:50 Joint Venture Company (JVC) between TACO and Ichikoh Industries, specifically targeting the automotive lighting market in India.
