Enhancing Payments for Creators: LianLian Global Partners with PayPal

Social commerce, marketplaces, and eCommerce entities associated with LianLian Global now have the capability to directly fund creators, influencers, developers, and independent contractors via their PayPal and Venmo accounts.

Today, LianLian Global announced a strategic collaboration with PayPal (PYPL) aimed at facilitating seamless payouts for its social commerce, marketplace, and e-commerce clients.

This development enables direct payments to PayPal accounts worldwide and to Venmo accounts within the United States.

The landscape of the creator and gig economy is contingent upon rapid and frictionless payment solutions.

It is projected that brands will invest approximately $32.6 billion in creators by 2026, with an estimated 50 million individuals globally engaged in content creation, whether professionally or semi-professionally (Gigapay Global Creator Economy Report 2026).

A significant number of these professionals already utilize PayPal or Venmo services, which boasted over 400 million active accounts across around 200 markets by the close of Q2 2026.

Venmo, in particular, had reached a remarkable 67 million monthly active users by Q4 2025.

Paypal Payouts is operational in 96 global markets, spanning 24 currencies. This functionality empowers merchants to dispatch payments to any email address, mobile number, or Venmo user handle, regardless of whether the recipient possesses an existing PayPal or Venmo account.

To bolster businesses in their global expansion, LianLian Global offers a suite of digital payment services including pay-in and pay-out solutions, acquiring, foreign exchange services, virtual cards, and payment aggregation.

To date, its parent enterprise, Lianlian DigiTech, has catered to over 13.3 million clients. Its services encompass more than 200 countries and regions, facilitating transactions in excess of 140 currencies and integrating with over 180 global e-commerce platforms.

This partnership harmonizes LianLian Global’s robust cross-border collection, foreign exchange capabilities, and compliance framework with PayPal’s extensive global wallet network. Key features of this collaboration include:

  • Pay to PayPal: Direct payouts from LianLian Global clients to PayPal account holders across 96 markets, utilizing only the recipient’s email or mobile number.
  • Pay to Venmo: Domestic U.S. payouts directed towards Venmo users, including creators, influencers, and independent contractors.
  • PayPal Payouts for Platforms: Large-scale disbursements for social commerce, marketplace, and affiliate platforms compensating numerous sellers, creators, and contractors.

Sandra Lam, Deputy CEO of the U.S. operations at LianLian Global, remarked: Social commerce is forging a new economic paradigm where creators, influencers, and independent sellers stimulate discovery and sales concurrently with the platforms they utilize.

Facilitating rapid payments across borders and for small amounts is essential for enhancing the network effect within social commerce.

We view our collaborative efforts with PayPal as a pivotal advancement in establishing the payout infrastructure for the global gig economy.
